| Its not writing off a season, its salvaging it.
Kev and Gilly have been poor all season, no two ways about it. Given Kev's a key player, if he is below par then it impacts on the rest of the team. Even if he was fully fit I'd have thought it best to let him have a week off to let the new regime bed down.
As for Gilly, he hasnt been playing good enough, in positions we have plenty of cover in, so why persist?

Yet their brave bid came to a stunning end when Cudjoe stepped out of the defensive line to intercept a pass and then run away for a 90-metre effort. (Times 2)

| Do you really think that Baloo is only planning for 2013 and saying 'Let's put this year behind us and start again next year'
Absolute tosh.
Sir Ken would be really pee'ed off if we gave up on the chance of playing two or three extra matches in the playoffs, just to get a few players bedded in to their new roles
Gilly, as we have been told on countless occassions, has had a lot of input into bringing our outside backs up to speed, so why not continue that process for the remainder of the season?
As for Kev, the lad must be totally bewildered by all the negative posts aimed at him from this site. He's given his all for the colours and I will always remember his try against the Stains and that beauty of a kick to give Leroy the chance to show Wellens a clean pair of heels.

| No one at all is arguing that he has given us great service, and has been an excellent player in the past.
However he hasnt had a great season at all, almost certainly due to his change of position to loose forward, a role he definately isnt suited to.
This has hampered his game, and combined with his intention to leave the club early has led to dramatic fall in form for him. Poor decision making, poor passing, poor defence and I am sure he himself is aware of that - just as I am sure he has done all he can to rectify it
That said, the club has to move forward and build for the future - and thats a future without Kev and Gilly, both of whom can be replaced with players in better form and with a longer term at the club.

| Why does dropping Kev & Gilly mean writing off this season?
Our season is currently only going one way anyway for starters and, secondly, if we are going to revive our season we all need to be pulling in the same direction and that would be very difficult having a captain/ex-captain in the side whose leaving at the end of the season. Surely asking players to give their all to earn their place in Baloo's plans for next season is more likely to produce results than playing 2 out of form players leaving at the end of the season.

| Dont think its a bad thing at all - Kevin Brown's performances on the pitch this year have been shocking, regardless of how long he's been here or how nice a guy he is he wasn't doing his job - The new boss has come in and has decided he isn't going to tolerate people not performing so he has chopped him.
Surely dropping one of the worst performers will IMPROVE the team ?
I think Baloo has laid down a clear marker to everyone that if you dont perfomr your out regardless of who you are !
