Because we offered him a contract which ain't much more than what his on which ain't the biggest in our team, he feels we deserves more and we won't budge, same as ukuma really

McGillivray Is definitely a quality player, He is one of the Giant's players I would be really sorry to see go, But if one of the so called top clubs came in for him you could not blame him if he went.
How many people would not change companies to do the same job, for more money and a chance of bonuses'. No doubt there would be plenty of gnashing of teeth on here at whatever club took him, Not unlike at Wakey when we take their best players.

Hopefully It's all nothing, But the answer is to give our players a chance to win things and then we can be a top club as well.

i agree! as far as i know there is a contract offer for him but he isn't rushing into anything as yet, and probably rightly so, he has 12 months to sort his future out so let's leave him to concentrate on his game,
agree about the chanting, it's a bit disrespectful to players who are out of contract IMO

We should be breaking the bank to sign Jerry. He deserves to be one of our top earners because he has earned that right. If we end up losing him it will be criminal.

I'm pretty confident that he won't be asking for silly money.

No doubt if he does decide to move on the naysayers will be claiming we "let" him go. Some players are one man clubs- others like a new challenge occasionally- and dare I say it the bigger chance to win silverware.
We can't pay everyone what they want due to the salary cap- folk moan that we don't make loads of big signings, we've signed hinchcliffe and rapira- but as a result those people will moan that we can't keep other players as we have only a certain amount of money to go round the rest.

And to add to what others have said- I think people should be more worried we lose Michael Lawrence - who is also off contract next year. The lad does nothing wrong- it's more likely he goes given he has improved going forward, tackles like a demon, rarely makes mistakes and rarely gives away penalties - but the minute ferres is fit he will be dropped like a stone.... Again...... He must be pretty fed up by now!

I was baffled by the chanting myself and one bloke i spoke to was adamant he was off at the end of this season and judging by the chants so did plenty others - i would hate to lose Jerry, he's my favourite player but if he decides he wants to move on then fair play to the bloke he's earned the right to leave this club as a bit of a legend !!

if Jerry leaves i hope it's because Jerry wanted to leave, to further his career if he thought he couldn't do that with us and not because the club didn't do enough to keep him

we also have another winger who will be on a nice salary as he was one of the best wingers in sl at the time we signed him in broughton, could have given jerry more if we got that signing right

absolutely monstrous tonight! what a try and they looked petrified of him, on form he is as good as any winger in the country right now, and i have said it before and will say it again, would be pushing for international recognition if he didn't wear claret and gold

superb performance, but yet again the chants of sign him up, the contract is there for him!!
