| Quote: Danril "It's massive game and Wire will try and smash us off the park from the first whistle. They'll try and physically dominate us and, like Wigan, get under our skin. Briers will try and ref the game and we'll have to absorb all of that and bite back with more.
Controlled mongrel. Obstinate, controlled aggression. And the forwards must not yield. It's all about the forwards winning their battles and giving the backs a platform.
I would not disagree with those who have suggested replacing Fooey for Wood. It gives a bit of versatility although Fooey can be a bit sloopy with his DH passes at times. Lunt was excellent on Thursday and will hopefully play big minutes.
It's a huge game. The politics of the decision for Wire to play us is meaningless and not worth bickering over. All that matters is winning one more game. Then, on Friday, with luck and a fantastic performance (because that's what we'll have to produce), we may have one game left to play.'"
Agree with that, except I think the politics of the decision is worth something and that's the extra motivation that may be the difference, people say it shouldn't make a difference, well in the real world it does, if someone said I wasn't as good as the next man at something I'd be extra determined to prove them wrong.

| Source of motivation for the players; yes. Reason to talk trumped up smack on a message board; no.

| I would start with Faiumu at hooker with his extra strength it will help us in the opening exchanges then bring Lunt on after 20 minutes.
We need to hold their pack and get in their faces early on . If they get on a roll we will struggle. If we pressurise and create some doubts we have a good chance.

The second paragraph is spot on but totally contradicts the first.
With Faiumu there is no go forward from the play the ball at all. Warrington would be on Giants before a pass was made. Lunty has to start. For me Faiumu brings little to the party and should be (as he was on Thursday) be left out of the 17.

I think this will be a fiery game with one or two brawls. Players have nothing to lose, but go out and put it on the line. If we shake them up and get on top then we have a chance, if we freeze or wait to see what Wire do they will blow us off the pitch.
This is going to be a full blooded encounter, make no mistake.'"
Played Wire 3 times and let em do to us what they wanted, what we haven't seen is that if we come out all guns blazing and aggression a plenty can they cope?
Hope it is a fiery affair cos we gonna be wound as tight as an elastic band and as Hull showed in Semi Final Wire don't like taking the treatment they dish out and Higham and Briers start throwing their arms up in air looking for penalties on every tackle.
Way to beat Wire is to out Wire em, bully em and they don't like it.

Have you seen warrington record against saints in super league? Up until 2010 in particular?
It might as well have been 1 win in a 100.
Or what about saints record in grand finals against leeds?
Bradfords record in finals against saints? 0 from 5 in the space of about 6 years.
Son, law of averages means sod all in sport.

Should be a great game on Thursday.
I can see a fired up Giants destroying a tired and ageing Wolves to set up a show down with the Rhino's
Simply need to get a good start and keep up the pace.
Warrington clearly fancy their chances too.
Time for Danny Brough to show he is the true man of steel this year.
Lunty needs to play the full 80 as neither Wood or Faiumu are quick enough at the play the ball
Looking forward to this one big time.'"
No matter which way I look at it I can't see a huddersfield win. The only way i can see huddersfield winning is if they blow warrington off the park and go 2/3 scores up in the opening 25. Can anyone seriously see that happening who isn't thinking with their heart? Otherwise unless warrington blow hudds off the park it'll be a close nip and tuck game and theres no way i see huddersfield besting warrington in that situation. Warrington simply have far more experience and when it goes into the last 20 and theres less than a score in it, every single poor carry, knock on, penalty becomes crucial and can lose you the game and in that situation huddersfield have the players who will crack IMHO. Someone like aaron murphy will come up with a knock on, or brough, after having a great game will have a brain fart.

| Every game Im confident we will win but not wire away, just hope the boys can prove everyone wrong about "not performing in big games". The whole team need to be on top of there game for this one but I think the forwards need to be at there best if we want to be in with a chance! Beat every team apart from wire this season, lets end that! Good luck lads!

But that's not the only way to win is it, we are more than capable of running through Warrington, they have failed to win games when it matters, we saw that against Hull in the do or die semi.
This is sport, favourites don't always win, underdogs do triumph and people don't always perform even champions, not that they are the current champions.....................

No no no.....we could be out of it after 20 as Hull were v us....we did that with Crabtree v Wire and the game was lost by the time he was on. This is not the time to try to be clever play the best from the off and do what we do if thats enough who knows but lets not blow it doing things different to what has got us this far

| In the cup game v wire the team were pumped up and ready to take the game to Warrington, unfortunately they didn't handle that energy well and it wasn't focused
But I think that game taught the lads a lot about controlling their focus and energy, it's been noticeable since then in my opinion that they are much steadier and much more controlled
If we can find that trick to containing Wire's early aggression and focusing our own the we will win this game - we've found the trick v Leeds, Wigan, Saints etc, and it's not like we haven't beaten Warrigton in a payoff game before is it
People make a big deal about or poor playoff record, but one of the Games we HAVE won is at the Halliwell Jones in a sudden death playoff game...and we'd lost to Wire in our other games v them that season as well.
Technically the playoff form is on our side

| The bookies have Giants +6 for this one.
That's incredibly stingy. If I was a Wolves fan I'd be pilling on at -6

| I'd have given us more of a start as well TBH. They beat Leeds comfy last hit out and have taken care of us 3 times this season without too much fuss. It'd have been another thing Anderson could have used as motivation too!

| Would not back us on the handicap as 4 points down late on we would need to gamble and could let them break away. Think the margin will be over 6 win or lose.

| I think it's worth noting the extra days Wire have had to prepare for us. They knew from Thursday night they were playing us and making that early decision is of clear advantage whereas we could only focus on them from Midday yesterday.
I still think if we can do ouselves justice we can win. The simple fact is it's a long time since we've been able to do this against them so I just hope we can - I'll be there full of confidence on the night having convinced myself we will win but at the moment I do feel I'm going more in hope than expectation.
