| I like the irony that you lot got shut of him because you had doubts about how long he had left in the game, only for him to end up with us and will probably end up giving us 4 very good year's service...
I think this one is up with the 'selling Eric Cantona to Man Utd' decision made by Leeds Utd back in 1993.... ![Wink icon_wink.gif](images/smilies//icon_wink.gif)

| Someone obviously didn't realise just how important Hodgson was to our attack back then.

| Quote: brearley84 "Letting Hodgson go when we didnt have a ready replacement full back
Nobody was complaining when Scott Grix was scoring higher on Opta stats than Hodgson last season were they?
Sorry but the people moaning about letting him go are the same people moaning about the lack of game time we've had out of David Fa'alogo and Luke O'Donnell, this is potentially what could have happened with Brett Hodgson and was probably the risk assessment at the time.
Hodgson hasn't played masses of games for Warrington this year, he has been kept for key games where he can come up with the goods - ask yourself if we have the strength in depth to be able to do that? I don't think we do.
That said, he was outstanding on Saturday for Warrington and was deserved of the Lance Todd trophy.

| Was down at Wembley and decided about five minutes from kick off to stick a £5 on Hodgson for the Lance Todd at 6/1.
So turned out a good day all round.

| Big mistake at the time, many on here was not happy about the position Thwellis was taking and I seem to recall NB was against the decision.
Reluctantly many backed down against their better judgement, as lets face it what choice does the common supporter have, they are powerless as to what is decided.
Grix did an OK job as cover lasts season not great and certainly not MOS standard, Eden has potential but has a lot more learning to do, needs to tighten up his decision making and last line of defence akin to BH.
BH deserved his accolades on Saturday, indeed he's done pretty well all season, and Wire's decision maker has given him another 2 year deal!
BTW he seems to be getting most things right, how many trophies have they won in the last 4 years compared to us?

You recall wrong. totally wrong. Brown said he was planning to go back to Oz. He told his mate to join another mate at the Wolves. NB was for the decision until he flip flopped but it was too late. Presumably Sharp and Thewlis will get little praise from you for getting Hodgson in the first place. ![CRAZY d040.gif](images/smilies//d040.gif)

| There really has been some garbage spouted about who did what both on here and on Facebook.
There's probably only 3 or 4 people who know the WHOLE truth behind him leaving [no, I'm not one of them!].
As a footnote, who on here would offer Doof & LOD a 1 year, let alone 2 year, extension? Quality players, don't get me wrong. Brett didn't play a full season for us in his last year [nor is he doing so at Wire].

Somewhere in the dust of time rest the bones of the Galilean
He who was spat upon. He whose face was marred beyond all human likeness
Somewhere buried among the lies of the past rests the tomb of Yeshua
Of he who was made God in a world without Hope.
And when this son of Joseph is found. What then will the Church of Rome say?
Prepare yourself for the day is coming. And men will say
"Blessed are the wasted lives who perished in the flames of the holy war": |

| I must've missed all those trophies we won with BH in the team. Just like I must have imagined the two Warrington won without him. Good player but hardly pivotal to either sides success or lack of it.

"Pivotal" very good.
I think most Wire fans will have Brett in their best 17. We are a bit fortunate that Ratchford and Riley can give him a week off when TS sees fit and when missing earlier on this year O'Brien filled the goal kicking boots very nicely. If Ratchford nails the no1 jersey, he must be learning all the time from him.
Many believe that he was instrumental in the 'Myler try' at Wembley. Apart from his attacking prowess I'm sure you all appreciate his positional play when fielding kicks, he continues to make the game look easy.
His new deal with us is all about squad balance and we don't see it as a gamble at all

Never mind Brett H your best signing by a country mile is Andy Gatcliffe. The way he keeps your squad under the cap puts the whole of SL to shame. No other CEO can touch him!

We are very lucky indeed to have Simon Moran. Its not just the players that he has invested in, but rather he has brought a very sound business-like approach to everything the club does. Having watched Wire from the late 60's and seen only sporadic success, it makes a pleasant change to see a professionally run club that is winning trophies ( and beating Wigan and Saints regularly !) Having said that, to imply that we are breaking the salary cap without providing the slightest justification does you no credit.
From what I understand, BH moved to Wire primarily because he wanted a 2yr deal. We took the chance, you didn't wish to. Both decisions are perfectly understandable, and lady luck could have made a mockery of both. Thats life. Move on.

don't be such a thin skinned prat. I compliment the guy and YOU , a Wolves fan, start on about breaking the cap. Why?
I know AG from the days when he worked in the Oldham area.
Your response to my post does you no credit. ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](images/smilies//icon_lol.gif)
