* down town is when a player is in front of play before the ball is played and is judged as being offside (or out of play) until the next play the ball - presuming he gets behind the PTB

yes. BUT to be fair to ganson he would find it hard to decide in that scenario as there were so many players involved so he was right to ask the VR for some help.

He was right to go to the VR but he only asked for the strip to be looked at, im saying he should ask whether theres a reason to deny a try, if that was the question then silverwood could have denied the try for other reasons, the ones he wasnt asked to judge on

This reminds me of the Magic weekend when we played Wire and they had the ball on our line.

Wire player tackled, but held up short, ref shouts the tackle number, giants players let the wire player go who promptly falls over the line and claims a try.

Ref bottles it, goes to VR - ASKS ENTIRELY THE WRONG QUESTION and the VR awards the try, despite the ref having called the tackle complete!

Get rid of the VR, or change the way they work entirely, they are a joke and utterly pointless them being at the games. They dont get the decision right, they dont make the ref's job easier and they dont improve the game.
