Unless it's a swap with jerry i don't see much point. Why have another winger who will get terrible service and look bad? We need to be spending the big money on an australian halfback not a winger. The longterm replacement for an ageing Brough is the number one priority and a prop forward who runs straight and hard should be second.

I could have sworn in that interview Woolford gave he said we wouldn't be signing any ageing australian players looking for a pay day for the last few years of their career.... Although he did say he had been contacted by a few!

You have a point there, but that has been a problem for a long time at the club and while we have forwards like we have, Lawrence etc it's not going to change . Hopefully Woolford is going to change all that,
Regards Halfback, We were desperate for a half for years until we signed Brough, I can't believe we are going down the same route again now that Brough is nearing the end of his career, surely someone gave him a extra year because they had something in mind, We live in hope.

We have had a problem on that wing for some time, Mamo has spent more time injured than playing, D mac , the jury is still out on, and at the moment Murphy is putting some of our high flyers to shame in the pack, At least this guy is quality, but you are absolutely right our style needs to change drastically or it is just more money down the pan.

Just a thought but Sam Tomkins will be the man at Catalan, Will Drinkwater be going spare, he seems half decent to me.

There's ageing Aussies... then there's 30 year old former Australian internationals and capped State of Origin players....

.. And if he were bought to supplement a quality team he would be an excellent purchase. We have much bigger problems than finding a winger to complement McGillvary. Sort the middle out first before you blow big money on a finisher or you will find he has nothing to finish!

I guess the point i'm trying to make is that i really wanted to see signings , especially big money signings, in areas we are more lacking (halfbacks, prop), than a winger. I will agree that if those areas are covered with players of equivalent quality that it will be a good signing, but if this is our 'marquee' player, it's a waste of cap if he gets the kind of service McGillvary is getting at the moment.

You’re all forgetting we’ve been lacking in the scoring department this year and personally I think that it’s a great a big name player with a good track record and still got 4 or 5 years left in him

Judging by the quality of Aussie signings over the past few seasons this would be an excellent signing for you there isn't many Ben Barbas coming across and he's only here because of problems back home

we dont know who is going to be signed yet, this is just one.. give the club a chance! this one is a huge signing and another statement from keb davy that he hasnt given up on the club.

i know we tried to get uate before with rick stone but couldnt get him at the time so its long been in the pipe line this

its a two year deal not a three year deal according to the press today

Really hope we get him, we would be very dangerous down both flanks, just get a half back and then Turner back to centre to feed him. Might be a sign that we are going to play a bit more expansive.

not sure about turner back to centre, even back in his st helens days i dont think that was his best position
