| 1st half with Broughy on we tore them a new one ...the 1st try he laid on for Brett and his try he almost looked embarrased to be able to do em.....helped by the fact it was our half to benefit from the donkey in the middle, 2nd half again showed our attacking options without Danny are probably reduced by 60%.
Ta'ai looked good last night and looks to have lost the 'xmas pudding look' and will be a monster on dry ground.
Ferres looked dangerous everytime he ran
Dwyer had a couple of promising runs but had no back up.
Another point, i thought the treatment and abuse aimed at Kev Brown was unnacceptable from some of our fans last night, it weren't just the young uns either, whatever happened in the end we shouldn't forget Kev gave good service to this club and was an integral part of our recent upsurge. We dont know the personal stuff involved in his departure so we should have been applauding him for what he did for us...

| Now is the time to send Dwyer back and get leeming playing on a regular basis. We don't want Dwyer learning about our plays and passing those on to tony smith. Dwyer won't be able to play in the next cup round and we will need a back up for Lunt so get leeming playing regularly in the squad from now learning and building so he's more up to speed in July.
I agree about the brown comments.
And funniest moment last night was the announcer proudly proclaiming the sponsorship by widnes caravans.

Yes because Tony Smith will no nothing about our players or team unless Dwyer tells him.
It is not as if they have played us twice this season ( and in both games they played the best they have all season) or that he can watch us on Sky or send scouts to watch.
Dwyer played well and allowed us to spell Lunt. If PA wants to bring Leeming on at a slower pace then fine.
He will play again this season and hopefully ready to step up to regularly playing when he is ready.

| agree about the brown stuff daz, was quite surprised when it started, as far as im aware kev brown did nothing wrong apart from want the best for himself and his family.he gave good service to us over the years but I think some people blame him and his namesake for our collapse last year, NB also copped some abuse at the first game, no need for it IMO, they both served us well and abusing them is/was well out of order.
jools, I laughed at that caravan thing as well as the PA bloke stating that widnes have the best and most fans in rugby league! think he had had one too many shandies..

| Disagree about Ferres at centre I thought he and Taai caused them massive issues.
If we get this aussie from Landannn then we could put him in for Fooey position and have Fooey as hooker cover for Lunt

Oh come on Durham! Wake up- yes smith can look at past stuff vids etc- but having insider knowledge of the intended team tactics for that game will be invaluable- any niggles our players have etc - will all be exploited-there is a lot more info he can get from Dwyer than what he can glean from watching videos- if he doesn't use it he's daft!

Fair enough, I wasn't clear from the LE piece when it might happen.
Personally I think Leeming is an option, but think he's still some way off from what I have seen albeit very promising

| Leeming played for 15 minutes the other week and people on here think they know better than Paul Anderson and he should get a regular place.
While I thought he did very well it was blatantly clear to me he is very lightweight in defence and could be a liability in a big game.

| So in 15 minutes it was blatantly clear he was lightweight in defence? (Making 8 tackles and missing NONE, cf to Robbo 10 tackles missed 3) But not blatantly clear he looked a lot more cool calm and collected than Dwyer.
So you are suggesting we don't give him a regular spot-fair enough what do you suggest we do mess about with our squad for a cup game or chuck him in at the deep end or something else?

| He didn't miss a tackle but he was knocked back a long way by the Wire forwards who ran straight at him.
In the cup Lunt will probably do the full 80 with Faiumu able to back up if needed.
The club will be well aware of how he is progressing and hopefully he can get another couple of games before the end of the season but he is not ready to play week in week out
