| Was as gutted at the end as i have ever been at any match of any sport I've been too. If we ever do get to grand final I'll be a nervous wreck!
Thought we went really well. We went toe to toe and lost out on the narrowest of margins at the very last second. Not a case of us turning up or choking. We were just edged out. Painful though it was/is, I can stomach that.
I couldn't single anyone out for criticism after that. Yes, there were mistakes. But from both teams, and across the board. Is grix the best full back in the world, no, no he's not , but some of the stick that is fired at him is barmy. At times last night he was quality . All full backs have errors in them. As does he, and his running playing style sometimes encourages people to get on his back even when there's no error, as he tends to crab along the line, with the ball not exactly locked down. It looks like he's going to spill the ball at almost every contact. But that's his style, and for large parts of most games, he's solid.
Atmosphere was quality last night. This season has really kicked on in this regard. Even when we don't have numbers, the atmosphere has improved from previous seasons. Last night though, with those extra numbers and the importance of the game it was a different level.
Now we need to transfer that to Wigan.

Somewhere in the dust of time rest the bones of the Galilean
He who was spat upon. He whose face was marred beyond all human likeness
Somewhere buried among the lies of the past rests the tomb of Yeshua
Of he who was made God in a world without Hope.
And when this son of Joseph is found. What then will the Church of Rome say?
Prepare yourself for the day is coming. And men will say
"Blessed are the wasted lives who perished in the flames of the holy war": |

| Quote: brearley84 "we have hinchcliffe coming in at hooker next season so that solves one problem area.
need crabtree back for next week'"
We need a prop that can make more than 9 carries. Only Huby managed double figures. Jerry spent too much time coming inside and running it up the middle, that's why he made almost no metres. It also meant that when, on the next tackle we pulled our move of shipping it quickly right we were stifled as Cudjoe was left with no option but to take the tackle cos beating players isn't his game and his usual draw the man and quick pass to release the winger wasn't available.
Peacock and Cuthbertson made 44 carries and 92 tackles between them. That's the sort of workrate your forwards need at this end of the season. Too few of our forwards came close to matching that.

| Oh and Ferres was our best forward last night. Spot on call to bring him back in for this one.

| Sorry but having watched the highlights I don't know how anyone can defend Scott Grix. He cost us a point. Had that been a play off he would have cost us the match. He had all the time in the world to deal with that kick. All he has to do is belt it into the stand. I really can't imagine what went through his mind because he doesn't try to kick it, catch it or knock it dead. It's no wonder Cudjoe gave him a verbal lashing afterwards because at this level that is totally unacceptable.

Watching it again, I think he misread the bounce. Usually when a player chips over the top they put back spin on it so the ball bounces at a more catchable height for the chasers. The ball skipped on, though and Grix was left flat footed. He could've done more, definitely, but it was a wonderful piece of skill from McGuire, especially so close to the touchline.

| Grix had a good game last night until his end of game disaster! For whatever reason grix had no intention of getting in front of Hall like he easily could of done!
The robbo incident was poor! He should have scored but for me we lost this game because of school boy decision making from Wardle! I just cannot fathom what was going through his head when he chose not to give that pass!
On the other side of that we are VERY capable of making and winning a grand final! Our defence was fantastic and we broke the tough Leeds line a good few times!
Let's get over to Wigan and push our boys to the Grand Final! COYG

Yeah but why let it bounce? He has time to clear the ball into touch. He stops and waits for the ball. That is criminal, at this level you deal with the threat. The ball is the threat and he doesn't deal with it. If he knocks the ball into touch he takes the bounce out of the equation. You're right it was a great piece of skill and shows why Leeds win trophies because they have players who can execute, but Grix needs to deal with that better than he does.
If this was the first time and or he was a young player it would be forgivable but this is the 3rd time in the last 4 games that he has made the same mistakes. He cannot deal with a kick that gives him a decision other than "stand undert the ball and catch".

| very disappointing to not win that game never mind get a draw!i thought we were the better team on the night but the best team doesn't always get the spoils.couple of decisions went against us and a couple of poor decisions cost us and a whole heap of luck for Leeds i thought.
i don't like singling out players for blame, had robbo held on to the ball, had wardle passed( even though i dont think grix would have made it) ( but for me just one lucky decision Leeds got), had we gone for a drop goal at 16-8, if koppy had have raised his arm, if only grix had just done something at the end.
but harsh to be too critical, plenty of positives for me, as someone else said, we didn't choke, we were just unlucky i thought, especially in the last 10 minutes, would those decisions have had the same outcome it was the other way round? i doubt it
i would congratulate leeds but according to them the LLS means nothing so well done on winning the game and getting a home semi

even just a hand on the ball to knock on would have done
but unfair to hammer grix who i thought had a good game overall.

| Yeah Grix had been very good until that one error, which can be put down to a million reasons so the stick he is getting is very harsh

Can't agree with that meast, there is no way in the world we were the better team, They were very even I will grant you and our line defence was quite superb. Leeds had that bit more in attack that comes with experience.
Had Wardle given that pass I don't know if Grix would have made it, I do know that Wardle didn't, and he never looked for support till Hardaker had him, and he never looked like he would beat the full back.
People start frothing at the mouth if you mention Grix , don't know if they feel sorry for him or what. You can only comment on what you saw, It made no difference as it happens, but however you dress it up it was a pathetic effort, there were a few things he could have done but he did none of them. Hardaker would have knocked the ball out, tackled him before he got it, fallen in front of him, whatever it took. but as we know a draw changed nothing anyway.
We had already lost the home draw by then, giving away stupid penalties and taking wrong decisions. Now we have to go to Wigan, which is do-able but no side has won this year at the Pie dome, Can we get up again for this match, I think we could have matched them last night, Can we play at that level again.
I was really confident of winning last night, but this is last chance saloon, we have beaten them often enough but they are another team with oodles of experience, forget last night that's gone, we will have learned something from it.

good points, especially about grix, i said to a mate today that even pulling hall back and getting a yellow for a professional foul would have been a better option, but it's easy for us to say what he should have done etc, we aren't the ones faced with a split second decision in a high pressure situation like that,
i just feel that the stick he is receiving is a bit harsh as he had a fairly steady game otherwise.

| All this mention of Grix. He could have done better but the bounce of the ball deceived him. However not one mention in a 9 page thread of Wardles positioning and tackle attempt on Ward that is just as bad but committed by a player that can do no wrong.

Fair enough mate, I agree Grix had one of his best games I thought, but you can't pretend it didn't happen because it was him, The Wardle thing was just as bad for me, but nobody gets exited if you mention that.
