| No it's fine - I get it, we need to lose our next two games as according to wigan fans losing games shows we are focussed on and ready for the playoffs and are more likely to succeed.

| Not quite apart from Broughy none of the lads who will be playing in the play offs have won anything......the LLS will be the first piece of silverware any of them have picked up and if you can not see how important that is it is you who is way off the mark.
I think our squad is in as good a state physically as those who you seem to think have taken it easy so no worries we have pushed the players too far or as you say busted a gut.
I honestly think we will not win the GF this year bit that will not be because we have chased the LLS too hard but this season should be seen as a platform and if the likes of us and Salford shake things up a bit in future years the game will be much the better for it.

I hope Baloo and co are not dismissing Wigan so lightly as they have no master plan but injuries have dictated their selections in the main (bar Friday) but we know Charnley can rip us apart and if Tomkins is anywhere near fit in the play offs they have one hell of a shot at the double....if not they have the compensation that they have given experience to the likes of Hampshire, Sam Powell, Hughes, Crosby etc which may pay dividends next time around.

Why? We can win the GF. The players know what it is about. Mental toughness. If you are thinking about losing you have already lost.

True I just think it might be a step too far this year but as Ive said before its not 2013 or bust as long as we keep progressing we can be there ot there abouts.
The players will not be thinking of losing (and doubt they ever do) but we have lost games and that bit of experience at the tail end of the play offs might just be our undoing.
Happy to be proved wrong though

Indeed thats what late night posting does for you....then again blanking out Browns decision to let him go to Leeds is perhaps not a bad thing.
He will be vital and lets hope he has fully shaken off his injury and can keep making his mark all the way into October.

Spot on, that's why Shuddersfield need to simply enjoy today. But then Wakefield would just love to spoil the party.
Keep those nerves tingling, thats what contesting for silverware is all about.

| Hope you do show up and test us....we are moving into play off time and good tests v Wakey and Bradford could be just what the doctor ordered (though who will play v Bradford might be a cause for some debate if we win today)
Bring it on.

| We aren't interested in 'gaining an advantage in the play-offs' though - we are interested in winning silverware - fine if your clubs dont want it we, and i dare say lots of other teams would love to win it too.
So you lot keep banging on about how finishing 4th 5th or whatever is better etc and we'll pick up some silver while you do it cheers.

Na, not clueless, just enjoying our time in the spotlight, if you had witnessed what most of us had done in the past we could say its you thats clueless for not understanding our fans.
I do agree and have said myself that if we win a few things we may also feel the way others sets of fans do, right now though this shield is the CC, GF and WCC all rolled into one for our fans !!!

| Been following this tread from the outset and have been amazed and appalled at the attitude of some posters from rival teams with many suggesting their teams aren't bothered or concerned about the LLS, and going as far as to say that players are rested or conditioned for the play offs, perhaps that's why the shield has often been referred to as the " Hub Cap ". If any team have thought it not important to play to win in every game they play then they have a different mindset to mine, sure all teams are going to lose games or play well below par sometimes, I would just like to remind them all of the famous lines in this quotation:
For when the One Great Scorer comes
To write against your name,
He marks-not that you won or lost-
But how you played the game.

| Saints, Catalans, Hull FC, Hull KR, Bradford, Wakefield, Cas, Widnes, Salford and London, without a doubt fans of all those clubs would wish to be in our position today. Other than a few internet wind up merchants so too would fans of Leeds and Wire. At this precise moment I would swap Wigan as whether folk like it or not the Challenge Cup is bigger than the LLS.
Ultimately today is a big day for us, i am going to enjoy it (wakey permitting)
