Quote: GIANT DAZ "Maybe not win but people are complaining we're not ruthless enough against the lesser teams, if our fans were to make it uncomfortable for the opposition then maybe the players may respond to that, they're hardly gonna bust a gut to thrash London when that team gets applauded for getting back to within 10 points of us !!!!'"

I agree. People always complain that we aren't ruthless.

Who was the top points scoreres last year?

Answer: the same team which is 4th best this season.

Quote: GIANT DAZ "And that is exactly what is wrong with this league, you can play poorly for half the season but still have a chance of being the top team !!! half of the team's in the league don't even try to finish top and want to save themselves for a 4 game end of season tournament.

I want us to be top every year by playing to the best of our abilities every week and being there cos we are the best team not cos 6 others weren't that bothered where they finish..even now it looks like our squad have that attitude as well now !

The fans want to see the team rattle big score up against smaller teams but it seems the players are quite content with doing enough to just scrape the win and not using up too much or getting injured. i would love to see us put 50,60 etc on teams like London like others do but if that is how the squad are looking at the season it won't happen.'"

^Absolutely Spot on. Winning the league should make you Champions. I know im in a minority but if we win the GF but not the league I will feel a little short changed, the true Champions is the team who finishes top of the comp at the end of the regular season not the team that can win 4 games at season end. We have the Challenge Cup for that type of Comp and any team that wins this its a Superb achievement. GF is purely a money making excercise and if it has to stay it should be for a seperate trophy such as World Club Challenge with top 4 in UK vs top 4 in Oz as a playoff comp.

Then we've only won 4 titles and haven't won one since 1929 in your eyes since all our titles came through play offs and we won the last three having finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the league respectively. Someone should tell the club so they can alter their records.

With regard to clapping the opposition - yes I did and here is why:

London had only a handful of supporters there
London are all but relegated
London tried really hard all game
London players (particularly Drinkwater) went out of their way to ensure they sought out their few supporters at end of game to personally thank them, and show appreciation that they had travelled
Lastly - it was not so long ago that we were in exactly the same position - I can feel empathy for them

So what if we are the only ground to "welcome" away teams - personally see that as a good thing - what are we supposed to do - act like morons and boo them on to the pitch - I don't think so.

big deal if london are relegated, we finished bottom 4 years on the trot

cant remember seeing any away teams fans clapping us onto the pitch.

dont agree with acting like a moron no.

All those things happened to us between 1998 -2003 and yet we were a source of ridicule for it - and i include London fans in that the times we've gone down there too - we were hated by teams and fans alike back then so why the hell should we be so acccomodating to another team who are in a similar position !! i want our ground to be somewhere opposition players/fans etc fear coming, not 'supporting' the opposition is not being a moron !!

Hey - looks like I touched a nerve there eh? icon_lol.gif

We all remember the days we were pants, getting ridiculed etc... - more reason to be a bit more charitable I would have thought icon_confused.gif: icon_confused.gif: icon_confused.gif:

charitable !! to the team who has come to try and beat ours ? even if its at the expense of our own performance ? no thanks, i will appreciate good rugby and the like from the opposition but i couldn't care who the opposition are, where they are in the table, how many fans have come to support them i want my team to go out there and smash the living daylights out of EVERY team we play against !! This is professional rugby league in one of the toughest sports in the world not a dad v son's game at the local school ..sod charity, i want our players to be animals on the field !!
