Safe trip over, enjoy our beer buy some pies and hotdogs, have fun in the crowd and hopefully support us in the final icon_wink.gif

Really like Huddersfield and the fans. Let's just hope it goes down as an all time classic icon_smile.gif

Not managed to get down for our tickets (4 of us) so paying on the gate, not really worth buying in advance, save a £1 a ticket but probably cost a couple of quids worth of petrol and spend an hour to get to the ground and back to save £4, bit of a no brainer really. Can't wait for tonight though.

I must admit, not for the first time, these forum discussions have left me a little confused icon_confused.gif

When we were winning the league (which is apparently unimportant by the way), we were told that the Play-Offs were a completely separate competition and that results in league games had no bearing on the Play-Offs. But now we're in the Play-Offs we're told we can't win them becuase we're playing a team that's beaten us 3 times this season and 8 times straight previously. But they weren't in the Play-Offs. They were in separate competitions that I thought had no bearing on the Play-Offs... icon_confused.gif Oh, I give up.

Anyway, obviously I'm going hoping for a Giants win but I really hope whatever happens it's a great game and the winner goes on the win the Grand Final icon_thumb.gif

Glad you lot won last week as using the same logic, Hull beat us twice this year so we'd have had no chance icon_wink.gif

Safe journey over, enjoy it, and simply, may the best team win!

See to the real RL fans, it would be great to have the winner of tonight go on and win the GF, but we all know that Eddie, Stevo and gang will have the winner from tomorrow nights game no matter what happens!

Similar story, two of us going, couldn't sort my working week out until I knew what day we were playing, if I had ordered the tickets late monday would have paid a couple of quid postage & handling and had fingers crossed they arrived on time. We will be there but pay on the gate. I think we will have a decent crowd through, but, next two results permitting only a fraction of those who will claim to have been through in years to come icon_biggrin.gif

Yeah, it's a contradiction, for sure. When it comes down to it, the bottom line of it all is people just don't fancy hudds in the playoffs. There's no specific theory or evidence behind that opinion in reality, it's just instinct. People instinctively just don't think hudds have what it takes.

Huddersfield have never been to a grand final and the playoff record is scratchy. The only decent team that has been beaten in a knock out is probably warrington in 2010, who have progressed alot since then. That doesn't mean to say huddersfield can't beat warrington tonight and get there it's just probably a year too soon. With the experience this year of going to head to head with the other top teams as grand final contenders, they will probably go one step further in the next few seasons.

But this season?........Probably not, WHY? Just instinct.

I'd say Warrington's playoff record is "scratchy". They have a record of underachieving and a squad not as good as 2010.

Giants will win tonight..............just instinct icon_lol.gif

Giants will win tonight..............just instinct Our recent play- off record sees us:
2008 - Eliminated in the Week 1 against Catalan
2010 - Eliminated in Week 2 (second chance round) against Huddersfield
2011 - Eliminated in Week 3 (GF eliminator) against Leeds
2012 - Lose in the GF / Week 4 against Leeds

Rather than "scratchy", i'd call that "progression"/"improvement". And with our 3 Challenge Cup wins (2009, 2010 and 2012) we do know how to win in a big final. Also in losing last year's GF i'd say we've learnt a lot from last year.

Tonight, like tomorrow, could go either way. I've thought us four teams, despite the separation in points between the four by game 27, have very little between us. On their day all four will beat anyone.

That's fine. I never said they wouldn't, one of your fans pointed out the contradiction in logic from opposition fans and I simply pointed out possibilities as to why that might have occured. Sometimes in sport you just 'don't fancy' a team.

To be frank, huddersfield fans have been incredibly uppity this season and have done themselves no favours whatsoever.

Never before in rugby league, have chips so large, rested on so few shoulders. Never before in the field of rugby league conflict has so much been made of so little.....and by so few.
