Quote: Slugger McBatt "We are not complaining of tapping up and so that is a non-issue.
We'll know the outcome in a few days, but I presume that the Wakefield response to the approach to release him early was "make it worth our while". The problem with agreeing to letting him go early is that if it is a player-exchange, we are limited to not only those players on the Giants roster but also those the Giants are willing to release. By waiting until the end of the year, we could use the money we were offering Brough to invite any player here or abroad (subject to quota) to join Wakey, and maybe even one who played in the same position, and so it has to be a decent offer to make us jump early and leave a major gap in the squad, as opposed to spending the next eight months looking for a replacement.'"
That is what I don't understand about the whole situation - a deal could be struck, signed and sealed now for the end of the season thus meaning Wakefield keep DB and can replace him with your own choice. We've got a settled squad, you have too - why is there applecart upsetting going on.
