| Was Mather blood binned near the beginning, because the ref was waving his arm around, but he never actually went off? Did it count as one of their interchanges? Seemed odd.

| He got shown the blood bin card but didn't go off. Bit farcical the ref allowing him to stay on after that, especially with the Wire physio taking an absolute eternity to make his mind up whether or not he should go on!

| I thought Wire thoroughly deserved the win myself. We didn't show the urgency we've been used to seeing from our boys under Nathan Brown. I'm also starting to think maybe Lawrence should have a few run outs in the reserves cos although he's good in defence, he very rarely offers anything in attack. Can't remember the last time I saw him break a tackle. I wasn't too chuffed to see Aspy in the team but he showed decent leg drive in the tackle. Patrick impressed me as always. It's not often I say it after a loss but I thought the ref was ok today.

| The Gasworks club has to be one of the best venues in the UK for a pint before or after the rugby, but last time I was there (Four Nations) there were signs up saying it was threatened with closure as no-one was going. Hudds fans should rally round and spend a few Saturday nights there to ensure it survives.

| Good win for Wire but we played the wrong game today. Where did Morley disappear to for 55 mins, getting a bit too tough out there for him?
If you dish it out you should be able to take it Adrian old boy!!!

Aye it is threatened with closure unfortunatly, and it's not just the club itself at risk but the boxing club upstairs too!

Given the performance of Aspers yesterday I woudn't be too worried about losing Horne. I'd have been tempted to drop him after yesterday, personally, anyway.

So launch a campaign to get it back wher it belongs! I live 150 miles away so can't ( unfortunately ) be a regular myself. I'll even get the band I manage ( Ryker Sear - first album out today ) to play a free gig there if you want to get it organised.

Pity I didn't see you - I had my Ryker Sear T-shirt on under my E8RL shirt.

| thought it was a real tough match and dont think either side deserved to lose, but good luck to wire they managed to take it, i thought matt king was superb for wire best i have seen him play over here, for us thought gilmour and brown were top notch but brett seemed a bit average, but overall still confident of another good season as wire should be too, two good sides to me.

Smith was errrr, unpredictable today but it didn't affect the result in hindsight.'"
He jumped from the field of play quite clearly.
