| Thing is as good as Lunt was and COULD be again , he wasn't performing, are we supposed to keep players here because they were good 2 or 3 years ago ?. He didn't want to stay, he wasn't playing well so what is the point of keeping him here unhappy sand taking up a squad place and a wage ?.

| Quote Mad_Jack_Mcmad="Mad_Jack_Mcmad"So you suggest that we had a player who has been out of form and or injured for 2 years who didn't want to be at the club and yet the club saw fit to offer him a lucrative 3 year deal, which he didn't take up and even then they still hung onto him even though at least one club would have bit their arm off at the elbow to get hold of him, only to loan him to another club 4 weeks into the season because in a fit of coincidence even Charles Dickens would have turned his nose up at they happened to enquire about him the morning that he had "clear the air talks" with the coach?
Yeah that makes it all sound so much better managed doesn't it?
Because people seem hard of understanding I will reiterate. This has nothing to do with Lunt as a player or how he has played for us. He is a player who has experience of winning a Grand Final. He is an International player. On form he is one of the best in the country. All that needs to be replaced, I may be wrong and in the next week the club may announce the signing of Mcillorum, Roby or a similar calibre player, however I doubt that any sensible club will release a quality player 4 weeks into the season so I won't be holding my breath.
It is a dumbass move that leaves us without an experienced specialist in the single most important role in Rl. Whether Lunt has been off form or not there isn't a single shred of sense in the timing and execution of this move.
And yes I would rather have players who know how to win but don't want to be at the club than players who do want to be here but only know how to lose. It's a job, they don't have to want to be here, they just have to work. I expect players to be professional.'"
Lunt has been doing the im going you need to look elsewhere/ I'm staying give me more money for a while.
He was described to me by someone very close to the club as acting "like he had a split personality" last season.
It sounds very much like he didn't quite know what to do for the best for him and his family. He has never hidden the fact he wanted to try his hand in aus. He has a new baby due next month so it will be difficult to make choices to move in those circumstances.
He's obviously finally made the decision to move on or the club have decided that they need to. He hasn't been the player he was since his injury and surgery and there's only so long the club could keep selecting him in the hope he regains form whilst other players in the squad are playing better. Kudos to anderson for having the balls to drop him I say.
Whatever he decides to do next season good luck Lunty.

leeds didnt want to pay the fee to get him, we wanted him at the time as we had moved robinson to partner brough in the halves.
lunt hasnt been an international player since playing 1 game for England in 2010.
we wont be signing players like you have mentioned at hooker as we cant afford and dont need replacements at hooker as we have wood, robinson, leeming and ellis who can pay there if needed.

| Been a good player, but a few years since he was at his best and he's been playing like his hearts not in it. Probably a good time for him to move on.
Good luck to him, hopefully a change will do him good.

| Quote Baron Greenback="Baron Greenback"Mate if he doesn't want to play for the club I would like to know why rather than just ship him out. Going to Leeds is one thing, going to Hull KR is another entirely. What is wrong at Huddersfield that a class player like Lunt was/is could turn into the fifty per thats been turning out for the last however long before sloping off to Hull KR for getting dropped?
'"
It might not be the club. It might be him.
I've had three jobs since I was 21. The first two of them, I was climbing up the wall after three years desperate to get out. Nothing to do with the work, I was just ready to move on and have a new start.
Likewise my four years at Uni. By the fourth year I was desperate to get on and do something else. I doubt many people would say the Uni I was at was at fault.
Maybe it's just time for the lad to move on?
Players are people too, they're not robots.

Maybe so. I'm not convinced but I'll accept that I may be influenced by the way other events have been handled these past few years. There will be issues on both sides, most likely.

| Quote Ambergiant="Ambergiant"Mad Jack, you make a lot of sense. Did the Club really offer Lunt a 3 year deal after he was injured most of last season . Most on here believe everything that the Club tells them, some of us choose to look at the facts. Something smells.'" What are the facts Amber? The only people who truly know are the club and Lunt the rest is either guessing or lying.Fact.

| Quote Code13="Code13"Lunt hasn't been international or champion form in 2 years
I'm sorry he's gone because if he could regain his form he is brilliant - but on the showing of the last 12 months, he is no loss to us at all
As for other ins and outs...kafusi was pants, Chan had lost form, Fooey retired - and he was the best of them
Larne hadn't improved and had lost his x-factor
We've got Huby who was on the edge of test selection until injury
Hughes who is a back row to do a back row job
Ellis is a proper halfback
Wood and Robbo have done a better job at 9 than Lunt this season'"
I think this is a pretty fair assessment actually. I think the biggest miss is Fuey by a long way, and he's retired with honour so no complaints about him going.

| "Lunt who" Exactly!!
Let me think, would I prefer our starting hooker to be a guy who has always said " I want to play in the NRL, I want to play for Leeds or Hull KR etc"
Or a guy who always runs his blood to water, always puts his body on the line by getting bashed about, then coming back for more, and is totally committed to the Giants.
I would have Robbo every day of the week.
They were both offered 3 tear contracts and only one of them committed and signed the contract offer.
