I’m not trying to be clever (that would be impossible) or funny (that would be a first), but can you really rewrite history? History has already happened and so cannot be rewritten unless you mean by changing the fact into a lie. If we live we will make history when the present time has passed, but whether there is such a thing as the present, is also a moot point. So I contend you will eventually make history by the passing of future events, whether or not the history then would be the past you seem to want, is as yet unknown, and as future history is I think an oxymoron, all I can wish you is good luck in the future. lol

To be fair, they hardly look delighted, it looks more 'smile for the cameras' than anything else.

Most of the Wigan players expressions in that photo are of the kind which are saying [i"Do we really have to pose for the camera for this? Seriously?"[/i. The Wigan skipper in particular appears to be suppressing the giggles with regard to the sheer pointlessness of it all.

Of course you can rewrite history

I don’t think that’s the kind of history rewriting the post meant. That’s just plain lying! Huddersfield has confounded the pundits by not blowing out (well not yet, there’s still the play-offs) in the closing stages of the season, like hopefully we won’t do as well, and they have held it all together. I for one would like the league winners to be called the Champions, and have a guaranteed place in the GF which would put more meaning into the weekly rounds again, but I think I’m just whistling in the dark. Well done Hudds, and good luck for the future.

Then again they would need to ensure the team finishing top was not penalised by sitting around waiting for the other clubs to get to the GF. Maybe compress the playoffs into 2 weeks?

Under the proposed 2x12 then 3x8 system, the top 8 from SL1 would carry forward their points into their play-off competition.
