What a ti-t do you honestly believe any amateur or pro player ever goes on a field to lose. Pride will not let you do it.

No, but I do believe the level of effort and intensity that they put into a game varies massively.
btw aplogies to some of the more decent posters on here for the tone of my previous post- bit too much

| As intensity goes we started well! Koppy and eorl were massive for us, but the Wigan pack gradually ground us down as we could not match with size! We had opportunities to score and pressure but on the day we couldn't take them! Danny had an off day with his kicking at least in the second half and the pack was beaten on the day! No stress and certainly not a compitulation as we have seen before

Too bored to respond any more. I've blocked this guy too.
His opinion is immaterial.

yep but we could see that from the stands that we were getting hammered, when the charnley 2nd try went in i just thought to myself it has been coming! with those repeated drop out too... but nothing was done about it to stem the flow which was frustrating to see.. should of had lunt and crabtree on far earlier.
hope we get it right this thursday.. taai , faiumu, patrick and ferguson on the bench with lawrence starting.
taai at prop with patrick, faiumu changing with lunt when he needs a rest and fergy to get through some gaps!

| How do you stem the flow though when the oppostion have all the possession and keep forcing drop outs through intelligent kicks on the last tackle. We did well to hold out as long as we did and when they did score it was a good try.
Chances should have been taken earlier and it could have been a different result. Ferres held up over the line and Cudjoe dropping a pass with the line wide open are two that spring to mind.
The effort was good and i am sure we can go and get a result against Hull as long as they are just that bit smarter in attack.

Yep, agree with all of that, Wigan went up a gear and for one reason or another we dropped off the pace, thought a few heads went down as well when the onslaught came. Last chance saloon on Thurs, let's hope the lads are all fit, fired up and ready to go. Feed'em on raw meat for the rest of the week, I want to see our tacklers moving up and driving the opposition back, not stood watching and waiting to see what's happening before being forced into action, ala the last 20mins against the pies. Gerrin and give'm some from the off and then gerrin and show'em there's more to come. That's what Wire do to us and up to press we ain't
got any answers to it, we just play on the back foot most of the time.

we just seemed to be stood watching and letting them come at us during this period, you hit them hard and get in their faces, wont get as close to our line then!
you could see the difference in the tackling between the teams during this period and its ultimately where we lost the battle.
anderson even said we lost the 'collision' battle... all this defending and it robbed us of energy for the last 15mins..its was over by then anyway.
wigan were very good with the kicking game too with matty smith.

| Wigan had the possession which meant we defended numerous sets on our own line. You cannot simply rush out of the line as that would create walk in tries if the man was missed.
i actually thought we defended well it was poor execution in attack and dropped ball that cost.
try only scored 3 tries. One came from a Koppczak knock on followed by Brough missing his man.
The second was a good move with a great cut out pass from Tomkins. The last was a piece of individual skill from Green very simliar to the try Brough scored.
So only the first try came from glaring mistakes.

| Wane played six props and no one understood the sense of starting with Andy Powell. He lasted 9 mins at the start and 5 at the end of the game. In those 14 mins he made 13 tackles and 3 hit ups. Powell is 6'5" around 18 st and thunders in when tackling. When he went off Scott Taylor came on and made massive metres. The Giants pack could cope with the size and pace of the Wigan forwards.
The two Giants starting props faced three Wigan starting props in that first 15 mins and couldn't cope. Eorl went off after 16 mins.
That set the stall for the rest of the game.
Following that Green and Smith ran the show on the back of a winning pack.
The Wigan ptb was very fast as the Giants were only putting 2 men into a tackle in the middle. Hudds ptb were slow as Wigan had three men in most tackles.
Get it right up front and you'll beat Hull FC.

yep! i want us to go back to having 4 out and out props! a blow not having fielden for this and mullally not really stepped up... faiumu has gone well but is only a makeshift prop.
the play of the ball was alot quicker by wigan.. but bentham wasnt giving us a thing when wigan were slowing the pth down

| To be fair, Powell was taken off because he was way out of his depth, hence him only coming back on with 5 minutes left. They effectively had only 16 players.

| To be fair to Andy Powell, he had a couple of massive collisions with Eorl, due to being a RL player Eorl won both collisions, but at a cost, he was not right afterwards. Shaun Wane would have been delighted to swap losing Andy Powell from the game and removing Eorl's effectiveness.
