Yep shame on us. How dare we try and promote a game, do a good job to get over 19,000 into the ground and expect people to sit in a stand in allocated seats which they have knowingly purchased. Absolutely Disgusting!!!!

No problem with the Wigan fans, was in the North stand and there was a good mix, some great banter, and we witnessed at close quarters the Wigan walk.

it was a farce tonight. told we could sit anywhere in the east till some wigan fans decided to be awkward so the stewards had to move us all

I dont agree with the OP.

I thought the stewards were excellent.

As our tickets did not arrive we had to go and pick them up so got there early ( then there was no queue so we got into the ground about 50 minutes early.
Went to our seats and the steward came and talked to us for about 15 minutes and could not have been friendlier.

A bit later on a large group of Gaints fans were sat together but had to sit in different seats as their seats had been taken by Wigan fans.

Then 10 minutes into the game 2 Wigan fans turned up and wanted to sit in their seats which had the Giants fans in. The Giants fans all moved down and left two seats at the end of the row for the Wigan fans who refused those seats and demanded the stewards move all the Giants fans so they could sit in the middle of the row.

Two stewards had a chat and rather than upset all the fans and have dozens of people having to move seats agreed to let the Giants fans into the North stand.


They dealt with it quickly, professionally and without any trouble.

Hats of to them for being so good and accommodating.

I do think the problem could have been avoided though.
If fans knew that the group on vouchers were for alloctaed seats they might not have got them and they could have at least expected some Giants fans to buy them so they could put them together.


Anyway congratulations on Wigans PR and Marketing team for getting a great turn out to the game. Is that the biggest crowd of the SL season.

agree to a point there DG, the stewards were friendly enough with us, and were happy to chat with us.
once inside the ground,i went looking for my allocated seat,as did many other fartowners only to be told that we could all sit together in the next block which we did.
shortly before kick off though some wigan fans turned up and found giants fans sat in their allocated seats, when we said that we were told to sit where we wanted,the wigan fans got stroppy and started creating a scene,demanding that the stewards remove the giants fans, when the stewards said the wigan fans could sit where they wanted they refused and said they had bought these seats so were insisting on sitting in them.
it was 4/5 minutes later when the head steward said we could all move over into the north,which then created further problems as the giants fans wanted to be with their own fans but there was no spare seats.

it was a bit farcical in all honesty, the wigan club knowingly sold tickets to giants fans for the east stand, but I think they panicked when wigan fans started creating a scene, I don't think wigan fans in the east stand were all that happy that we were there.
if they knew that giants fans were buying tickets through groupon then they could have reserved an area for us.
as it was we were moved to the north stand anyway so all rather embarrassing.

as for the queues in the concourse!!!!

Queues and crowds at a RL game. What is going on! Now that you on the verge of trophy success this is a problem that you might have to start getting used to.

the crowds weren't a problem, it was the lax organisation which was poor!
the fact that Huddersfield had a decent support probably confused wigan.

Lax organisation is a bit unfair. There are normally more stewards than Hudds fans! It was all sorted quickly and so I don't see why you are trying to make such an issue out of it. Perhaps in future if you contimue to bring a decent following then you will be allocated the whole of the North stand. It is up to you!

Come on give us a break. We are top of the league, beaten Wigan twice, Saints twice and Leeds three times. Plus the fact Scott Grix had a MOM performance.

We have to find something to moan about otherwise it wouldn't be right...

I fully acknowledge your deserved wins against those teams and your deserved place at the top of the league are deserved. I also accept that RL fans like to have a moan about something! However a thread titled 'Shame on Wigan' is way over the top and undeserved.

I think you need to calm down a bit. The ‘Shame on Wigan’ comment is a bit over the top. If you had a problem with the ticket allocation why not contact the organisation that actually issued the tickets (ie Wigan RLFC) rather than spouting off on here & at the Wigan fans on the Wigan fans site. We don’t issue the bl**dy tickets. Were just fans.

Anyway, congratulations on your win. You were by far the better side.
