Good day out at Hudds today, even when a Hudds lady supporters umbrella attacked me on my way back to the car (purely accidental from her icon_smile.gif) Also nice to see more supporters in the main stands as well.
A good hard fought win from your players today in pretty miserable conditions. Shame the game had to have a clown as the ref though, he annoys fans of both teams with his sometimes ludicrous decisions (and no, the ref is not to blame for the defeat ). Not sure about the choice for man of the match either, met with a bit of stunned silence from a lot of Hudds fans.

Hope to see a few of you travel across next week for what should be another good contest.

Grix had a bit of a mare in the first half.

MoM for me was Crabtree.

Really enjoyed the game today and obviously the result. The score flattered us but we ultimately won the arm wrestle - even without lod. My mom was fa'alogo. First half he was awesome in defence - some big big hits , and strong metres when it really mattered.

Thought mason played well for first game back too - and he was disciplined too.

Also special mentions Kevin brown and I thought joe wardle again had a very solid game both offensively and defensively.

Even with weather and easter fixtures to not concede a try shows excellent D once again.

Agree code-eorl caused all sorts of problems- but should have for it just for managing to keep up with brough when he made his break- then the git passed out to the wing!!!!
Didn't notice browny on the field first half offensively but he tackled well. Malloy looked solid and has done himself plenty of favours some good strong running from him.

Grix was getting slated 1st half and rightly so, he had an absolute mare and when it was announced he was MOM there were plenty of chuckles and surprised looks around.

My top 3 today were Eorl......he was immense today
Murphy.....thought he was terrific today both ina ttack and defence
Leroy......a mountain in defence when we needed one !

Thoguth FC were very poor in attack and offered nothing, i cant actually remember a clean break form them TBH and only time they genuinely threatened our line was in the last minute !.

I don't think Hull were allowed to create anything today. Although our attack wasn't up to scratch I thought our defence was as good as ive ever seen from the Giants.

You do realise we had Seven 1st teamers out?

Moa
O'Meley
O'Carroll
Heremia
Westerman
Horne
Martin

All 1st choice when fit.....I'm not making excuses, but don't rub yourselves up too hard about the win and lack of any creative play from Hull today.

Really enjoyed the first half. Both defences were excellent, but with little offered in attack. I said to my mate at half time that I thought that you had the majority of field position due to were the mistakes seemed to be made (ours in our half, yours in our half).

2nd half you could see that we were out on our feet and it felt like it was a matter of time. Our lack of threat in attack was hugely down to your excellent defence. We've had plenty of joy out wide this year with the likes of Yeaman, Manu, Turner and Tickle. Every time we seemed to have a glimmer, you slid across and got in our faces.

The best team won, no doubt, as you could see that you were finsihing stronger going into the last quarter. I was really pleased with our effort and committment. We are a work in progress and the signs are encouraging. Huddersfield were methodical, organised and aggressive. It was clear why you are doing so well this year.

Good luck for the rest of season and I hope that we get to meet in semi's and finals over the next few years.

George, Faiumu and Fairbank injured, O'Donnell & ferguson on rehab and advised to only play once over Easter. Gilmour and Lunt "rested". I don't think we spend significantly more on the cap than Hull, so its choice rather than Luxury to have a deep squad, only 4 overseas helps in that.

i personally didnt think the score flattered us ,i thought it flattered hull to be honest, as an attacking force hull were non - existant 3 and 4 drives and a kick seemed to be their game plan very boring imo, to me we only allowed them to stay in the game through our handling in the first half, 2nd half we went more conservative and ground it out. do think hull look a better side defensively than lately but offensively very poor, thought for us chan, crabtree and brown were great 2nd half, for hull only houghton offered any threat, good crowd today more atmosphere and good away support.

Agree with goodie, i dont think the score flattered us at all, we made numerous breaks and chances, the fact that we put them down or took the wrong option saved hull from being walloped,in fairness both defences were very good.
How grix got MOM i'll never know but fair play to him for not letting his head drop.
Thought all the backs put a good shift in as did brough and robbo but chan and eorl were outstanding.
