Watching the tv replay they got that spot on too

Ref was in a perfect spot and the ball didn't cross the goal line, and if it did it was pulled back over by McDonald so it wasn't stolen

They also got the Wardle pass inside for his try wrong. Cant remember who he gave it to (grix??) before he got it back off him - that pass inside was a good yard forward.

No complaints on the result - our forwards went well, some young lads in that pack - but we are just not clicking in defence - we seem to be relying on Briscoe, McDonnell or Lineham to create something from nothing, which they all did (or nearly did) at times on the night

The pass from Ferres to Wardle was borderline but Wardle was behind Ferres when it was passed and both players were moving at full tilt

it must be hard work for refs to judge a pass that is borderline.its easy on tv but on the pitch its hard work

hull are abit like us where they have strong running back.. mcgillvary and briscoe run it back well.

the touch judge tried his hardest for hull fc, first half making bentham go to the screen after bentham had said the 'try' was offside... then a knock on showed on the screen too

then to top it the same touch judge didnt give a forward pass for the other 'try'.. the touch judge on the other side of the pitch had to give it

Good point well put if the ref is not certain use his touch judges and he should be praised for doing so and perhaps the first touch judge told him he thought it was forward but wasn't sure so get the other one involved and try to get the right call.

The fact that all the officials confer and use all the tech they have to get a call right sets them above other sports.

We shouldnt question them when they do that and get it right, but wonder why they dont do it all the time

I like the Australian method where the referee gives his decision (try or no try) and the video referee can only over rule if there is conclusive evidence the call was wrong. To be fair most of the referees calls are shown to be correct after the video referee's decision and it stops the buck passing so often seen in this country.

just had a look on superleague website. 28 missed tackled suggesting the defence was far from great although it must be said a lot of the misses were in the right half of the pitch.The goal line defence was decent.
