I always prefer to comment on matches i have seen so not going to Hull makes it difficult.
I will be at the leeds game so may have some observations after that
But at the same time i dont knee jerk when we win one game either.
I will make my judgements when we win big games against teams in form.
Beating a dire Hull, Wakefield and Cas team does not make us potential champions.

Thanks for the endorsement, but unfortunately we're not as good as dire. Wretched would be a better description.

Well said. Obviously Amber has not played the game, except maybe the odd game at school, otherwise he wouldn't be coming out with some of these pathetic comments.
Get a grip Amber and stop showing yourself up.

| Anderson has said for a long time we need to not focus on the opposition and just focus on what we are doing.
Finally I think this coming to fruition. We have had a tendency to play to the level of the opposition in the past making very difficult viewing. Playing top notch stuff against Leeds then looking lost against Salford. The difference between our best and worst performance was too great, however I think the margin is getting closer.

| Ambergiant, no offence but get a grip!
you think it's all about the 17 on the field? wrong, oh so wrong, as Jools says, it's a squad game and every member of the squad has a part to play, whether they are in the 17 on matchdays or not.
a happy workforce is a productive workforce as the saying goes, and you need all the members of the team, players, coaches etc to be happy, if not then even just one unruly member can disrupt things.
team spirit is important and FFL rightly applauds Broughton for showing that, despite the fact that Jodie is probably very frustrated at not being able to "put his body on the line", he is still supporting his mates, after all the game of rugby league is about supporting your mates.
if you can't see the benefits of having squad players supporting the team rather than sulking then you need a reality check.

| I will
Lunt sulked and put himself before the team
broughton I am sure is desperate to play but instead of stropping off he sticks at it and supports the whole team

Hull were faves going into this game after beating saints away, widnes at home and sheffield away in the cup... they were coming into this game on a decent run and i think many expected them to win, its never easy to win at hull so i think the players and club deserve some credit.
i suppose if we beat leeds then it will be because leeds are in poor form after losing to warrington

If we beat Leeds it will be down to our performance against theirs.
However it is the following game against Leeds which is the important one.
The reality is that there are only 7 important games for us this season 4 in the CC and 3 in the playoffs.
Depending on how we do in them that is how i will judge the season.
If we dont get into the top 8, have a good CC run or play offs then the season has been poor IMHO

| Quote: Ambergiant "I did actually play the game unlike some. Keyboard warrior is that the best insult you can come up with.
You are a bitter person who is misinformed and should stop attacking Lunt, why don't you look him out when we play them and say what you think to his face? Think not!'"
You don't need to have played the game to know that it is about more than 17 men on match day. As it happens I have played the game.
Nobody has attacked Lunt. However he got dropped twice, when this happened he asked to leave. Fair enough. Some players stick it out and get their heads down in training, some go on dual reg and prove themselves. He chose to leave. Completely down to him.
Nothing against the lad, but I'd rather have players that want to play for us.
So I won't be seeking him out to tell him, why would I. (Please don't show yourself up even more and say I'm scared)
You're trying to show that you are a passionate, loyal supporter when in reality you are making yourself look stupid.

im sure every giants fan would think not getting in the top 8 would be a poor season
currently we are 4th and in the last two games improved our attack and cut down on the errors so thats a good improvement from where we was after easter

| The regular season is important to get into the top 8. Even more important to be in the top 4. Very important in the p!ay offs to stay in the top 4. So, does the season start once we are in the top 4? (Note vote of confidence "when"!)

| Agree about Broughton, and any other sqaud member supporting the boys - i dont go on twitter so have no idea what he said - but if we have players who aren't playing NOT supporting the lads on the field and being unhappy cos of it then what state of mind will they be in, and what kind of attitude will the other players have towards them when they are needed and called upon.

| Quote: jools "taai is also pretty good in defence - but offers a little more go forward - it just depends whether PA wants to batten down the hatches early on and wear Hull down or go to get out in front.
interestingly when I checked the defensive stats for this year robbo is doing great!!! Hes done 10 more tackles than Eorl and only missed 8 tackles to eorls 16 all season so far!!!!
Ive not used Eorl to get at Eorl - Ive used him cause hes a good defender!!!'"
Robbo's defence is better in the middle than out wide as he can get up to make the tackle before the attacker has built up any momentum. Not sure were the stats come from though as just looked and Eorl has only missed 4 tackles all season.

| As an FC fan I'd just like to say thanks to the bunch of Giants' fans who popped to Brickies (the pub across from the stadium) after the match. Firstly, they had the good grace to not rub our noses in our team's dire performance. Secondly, the banter was top notch. Easily more entertaining than the game. I only managed to get one name, so if Mr Mark Mellor and friends read this, thanks again.
PS, the stories about Warrington were hilarious
