| Well, this is a pretty lame thread isn't it?
I'd apologise, but they're nowt to do with me.
Here's a little history lesson: in 2004 Leeds won the LLS for the first time in SL. We then played our first play-off game as league leaders.
Anybody remember what happened next?
Different format, but even so. It ain't over yet. And we shouldn't be gloating. We haven't even started yet. Most unwise if you ask me.

| Are fans saying we should have not been confident?
We had better form than Wigan
We had beaten them twice
We were at home
They were missing one hell of player In Sean
Yes we were confident and talking up the team why shouldn't we?
Looking on the Wigan forum there was a fair percent expecting to be turned over by us, you look at the facts and make predictions on them!
Simples each game is a new day and Wigan overcame bad start became patient and took it away from us in the second half!
We certainly didn't choke just got outplayed on the day!

Having watched that performance and read a couple of player comments in the press (always to be taken with a pinch of salt I know) I wonder whether it was more a case of too little confidence?
I know you're all bored of hearing it, especially from Leeds fans, but I still think the intensity level went up tonight and Giants didn't step up with it.

I thought somebody who lives in Aus might have a bit more respect for the system? But then again you live in Adelaide which is a Dump and full of meth heads.

Yeah fair point, although the first 15 mins we were red hot! Props damaging the line forcing drop outs making meters, just seemed Wigan stemmed the flow was patient and built up pressure and took over!
We needed to bring on two more props the mold of koppy and eorl, Patrick paired with fuey doesn't have the same effect against that Wigan pack

Well only Wire or Leeds can have the pick now and I doubt very much anyone will ever pick anyone but the lowest seed in clubcall. If say Wire picked us over Leeds they are in essence saying, we fear Leeds, they might have to play them in the final after that, do you really think Tony Smith or Brian McDermott would do that?
Maybe they would, but I doubt it.

Here's a little history lesson
A thread like this was inevitable the way huddersfield fans have gone on this season. All opposiion fans have tryed to do is say ''hey, things can be different in the playoffs'' and all it's been met with is derision and disrespect to other teams that have won titles.
You'd be forgiven for thinking for huddersfield were the greatest team in history if you read their posts.
So when the playoffs come around, and what everyone speculated (which was met with derision) comes to pass and huddersfield struggle to step up the intensity of course a thread like this will apear. It's a lesson for huddersfield fans.

We lost the game, but it's not over yet as your 2010 win tells you. Just wondering if other fans gave you the same stick when you lost your first playoff game that year, will you be going into the boards of other teams that lose this weekend, or is it just the sheer relief of finally beating us that means Wigan fans have to come on here to gloat now. Nice to see your fans stay to the end- it's a long time since we've seen it happen.'"
I wouldn't say Wigan fans are gloating. They're just reminding you of the silly comments in the week.

I think we'd pick you lot. I know the players want to play them, and we could send Wigan to Warrington which seems a good plan.
But if Wire get club call then yes I think they'll go for lowest team as per Tony Smith's "we don't care" policy.

It will be interesting if tony does get club call because all the the club calls have been rather predictable to be fair with most fans seeing the obvious choice. Now if wire win tomorrow and Leeds and us win this coming week would he choose Leeds who have battled hard with them on the occasions they played or us who they've turned over three times? Man of his word or change of opinion this year?

| Whichever team is lumbered with the club call, they will use the same criteria as every other team in the past...
Pick the lowest club.
Nobody will name Huddersfield over a lower placed club. That is seriously taking the pee.
Squeaky Bum time for you lot now.

| If Leeds get the club call I think we should call Salford out. We've got a right record against them. We'll even go to their place, save getting ours messy.
What? Huddersfield or Wire? Oh. I expect we'd go for Wire then, just because if you deviate from the norm of picking the lowest ranked team you'll look such a massive t!t if you lose that you'll never live it down.

| Huddersfield don't have anything to worry about, and all the banter from fans of other clubs may well be premature. Plenty of clubs finishing top have taken a defeat, been written off, and ended up winning the GF. Leeds did it in 2004 when the Bulls gave us a massive scare, and Wigan did it in 2010 after the 'rugby gods' game that got under the skins of the Wigan fans.
Brough needs to sort his head out before the next game though.
