| Ferres was sent off. It was bad, it was dangerous but his record is good and it's bad technique more than malice. It's 4-5 games IMO.

| What I also found disappointing yesterday was the likes of Lance Hohaia holding his hands up, trying to get players ten minutes as he did in the incident where Walsh conned a penalty from Bentham by shoving Jerry and then Wellens weighing in wanting people sent off in this incident. They shouldn't be interfering like that. It's not football. You shouldn't go to the ref telling him to send folk off.

| Very poor form from the majority of your fans in the best stand giving him a standing ovation when he was sent off.
8 matches IMO. Grub.

And the sooner Baloo gets that message through to Broughy the better. We are totally in disciplined this season and Danny is hardly leading by example or helping get referees on side by his behaviour.

Agreed and I am sure Wardle did not get such an ovation against Leeds last season and I for one stayed quiet and it was embarrassing that a majority did act as they did.

| Quote: Northern Giant "I wouldn't disagree with that. It was a bad tackle, but given that the McKinnon tackle only resulted in 7 games I doubt the RFL will give him 8. It's a bit of an odd one, because most spear tackles that I can remember seeing didn't result in a red card and didn't receive as much attention. Whatever they decide I hope that they show consistency from now on and all tackles like it are treated the same both on the field and in the disciplinary.'"
100% there needs to be a lot more consistency from the top but spear tackle A May be quite different to spear tackle B so should have room to judge.
What made this one worse IMO was the way first contact was a good hold round the waist but then lifted and even drove down, most others tend to be be a low contact with the defending player low getting higher whist with some sot of control of the attacking players legs resulting in the head first spear tackle
I always consider ferres a rough player but not dirty and would say there was no malice in what he did.
Couple of comments on points below, I don't like players asking for cards I think the holding down on Walsh was very very close to being a professional foul and 10 minutes but that is the refs call, not the players.the way wellens can act towards the ref at times can be embarrassing for the whole club
I was one of the fans cheering when the red got given and I stand by it it was one of the worst tackles I have seen for years, I didn't think the ref would have had the bottle to show it and was glad ... But teddypicker have you ever seen a red card given to a player where the other set of fans did nothing? I haven't there's always a reaction

You say his record is good but he has previous for doing the same thing. 5 times the RFL have reviewed incidents of a similar nature from Ferres. I think that will go against him.

I would agree that not all spear tackles are the same, I think there's basically two kinds one where the ball carrier lands on his head/neck and one where he doesn't. Brett's tackle yesterday was one of the ones where the player landed on his head and should be a straight red and a lengthy ban. If the player doesn't land on his neck then I think it should still be a red for dangerous technique but perhaps a shorter ban or sending off sufficient.
I disagree that he drove him down. It looked to me like he got Lomax in a dangerous position and then lost his balance and fell over, bringing Lomax down on his head accidentally. No less dangerous, but not malicious.

| Wardle did get applauded last year, and the applause wasn't for the tackle it was appreciating what he had done in the game previously....he deserved to be sent off and probably knew as soon as he did it he was in trouble.

Great point. Brough's arrogance and behaviour contributed to the run of penalties in the second half. When a player is chirping away angrily at every decision, clapping to his face and generally goading him, it'll never go in his favour.

They're a funny lot in Huddersfield, I remember Carl Ablett getting dogs abuse when he was led from the field with a broken cheekbone at huddersfield. I'd like to say their small number of supporters is high in quality but unfortunately the exact opposite is true.

I remember that (wish I didn't), was in 2011 at the end of the season. Absolutley sickening, the huddersfield fans that day were a disgrace. Maybe yesterdays dissapointment was poetic justice for those cockroaches.

| I think the Hudds fans are a decent lot myself. Never seen any trouble with them or anything. Generally a friendly bunch.
