Who has exactley said we are world beaters ?
Have you even looked at our forum and seen the amount of negativity on there throughout the past few seasons ?
Do you hear voices in your head ?

| A very strange game today.
I was a bit surprised to say the least to be 18-0 down to a very average Hull side after 30 mins. The first try was especially one that only comes in when the ball bounces your way.
Basically Hull did not make one mistake in the first half. they had four chances and took three. They had very little go forward aside from penalties.
The Giants certainly didn't play badly just indiscipline and a woeful pass from lunty on the best move of the half.
So at 18-6 at half time I was surprisingly positive. The second half just showed what can happen when you keep your head up. Hudds made twenty metres more a set than Hull, improved discipline and Hull began to make mistakes. Giants still threw away chances (yes Browny I mean you !) but hard work told,
Big hit of the half was when Brough smashed that big fat Kiwi for Hull.
So all in all great match, lots of positives and I seldom say this but great atmosphere at the Galpharm.
If we beat Hull KR on friday then we are back on the rails.
Well done lads and special mention to Brad Drew who I have often said is past it but today fair play was great. Larne Patrick, Faimu, Mason and Brett Hodgson also stood out. Only poor display was Horne's first half where he had a nightmare.
I'm not sure if he had a bad game but Worzel Gummidge looked a shadow of his St Helens self.

| I think that the turning point was Drew coming on. Seemed to pick the team up and give us a lot of direction. It also signalled a change in strategy as well as we trie dto pick the pace of the game up and play more of an expansive game.
We carried that on in the second half and it was the speed of the game that tired their forwards out, kept them on the back foot and made them give away penalties.
In the first half their forwards killed us in the second we ran them ragged.
we did however get a bit of luck the Brough kick that led a try was fortunate BUT we also bombed a few chances as well particularly in the first half
great credit it to NB to turn it around and change the tactics.
I thought all the forwards played well but Mason and Griffin were superb.

They really didn't. The penalty count did. If that was as a result of their great forward play then fair enough but Hull didn't have one line break save for the first try in the first half

The ref was the only one moving Hull forward - once we cut out the penalties they had no answer.

| The difference being Giants also upped their game.
Help from penalties always appreciated though.

| after the warrington cup debacle i (rightly or wrongly) slated the players for lack of effort, passion and desire, well tonight im going to redress the balance.
today we were immense,we showed every quality we lacked in that warrington game,we played with passion with desire and tons of effort! with only 3 recognised props in the 17,18-0 down we needed a big effort from everyone,we got that in , yes we were fairly unlucky to be 18-0 down as i didnt think hull were anything special, they scored 3 tries off the back of our silly errors and penalties, give them credit as they took the few chances they had to post their 18 points.
but the tide turned once drewy and fooey came on we changed our tactics and got into hull who in the 2nd half simply had no answer to our power and skill and were simply blown away, had it not been for it us taking the wrong options numerous times and browns brainstormer it could have been another 50 pointer for us.listening to over confident hull fans befor the game,we couldnt possibly match them in the forwards, not only did we match them we trampled all over them, mason, griffin and especially larne patrick were simply immense up front as were wild, gilmour and dave hodgson who worked tirelessly taking the workload of the forwards numerous times, brett was back to his brilliant best causing hull problems all over the field.
so to the 17 wearing the claret and gold today, take every plaudit that comes your way you deserved it,like you deserved the stick you got after the warrington game

That's why we scored so many long range tries wasn't it. I seem to remember Briscoe spilling a bomb, Faiumu sidestepping though your defensive line, Bretts cut out pass to Hodgson, Lunts 60 metre effort and even Griffin breaking through. How many were on the back of penalties?

I don't get why we wasn't anything special because we scored off your mistakes, but then when you win the game from scoring your tries from our mistakes...you claim you were immense. xD

| Worth noting as well that today we gave away two penalties on the 5th tackle today as well as losing possession 3 times on the first hit up after a penalty. Careless and we need to improve there for sure.

We scored one try from a mistake. Brown's try, for example, was just us playing quality RL.
