One returnee I'd convinced to come left at half time he was so disgusted, his new missus is a Bradford fan so he spent much of last year at odsal watching the Bradford players give their all - he wasn't impressed by the performance today- or by the fact the catering company ran out of good and drink by half time.

This is the problem with the newbies. They are not fans yet. The majority of our core support knew this was one we was likely to lose and wire have our number since TS has been their. We expect it and accept it and look to next week but newbies see the game as a loss go on a downer and we won't see them till we beat another 5 teams on the trot. The fans will be at the games week in week out just got to hope some newbies realise we are not the finished article yet and losses happen to all teams in all sports.
As for running out of food and drink well that's ridiculous!

Hope Leeds bring as many as they can. The fuller the stadium the better. Big place to fill and with the cameras rolling a bright, passionate atmosphere must be shown. But surely the majority would have bought the tickets while the offer was on rather than wait and pay more?

Ok 4000 by us and 4000 by them. Then take into account all the under sixteen ticket holders that just need to turn up with their passes will add on a fair few I would think!

Also on money terms the clubs would have probably put this game at 15 quid and average attendances are about 4000 for this round so
15 x 4000 equals 60000
8 x 8000 equals 64000
Then take into account twice as much will be bought through the food, drinks, programs ect
Then the increased atmosphere with having a fuller ground!
Maybe not the ten thousand we wanted but still something that has worked to promote this game and credit the two clubs for trying to get this game to be a success!

Whilst I assume and both hope you're joking, it's a bit concerning the attitude of your fans seems to be 'well the tickets are cheap so the Rhinos fans should buy them to fill the ground' rather than encouraging your own fans to do so. I'd certainly be embarrassed if my home team were outsold by the away team.

that's the point we are making here, our fans have bought, we only have 4-5000 fans,leeds have anything from 12-15,000 so I would say its leeds "fans" that haven't bought tickets.
if by our "fans" you mean the general public of Huddersfield,then theres not a lot we can do about them!

i dont personally care who buys the tickets as long as it creates a decent crowd and atmosphere and helps it be a cracking day, we keep getting told how our support is crap and how we have no fans etc so other fans shouldn't complain when 'our fans' dont sell loads of tickets !!

Our fans have bought them, the general public of Huddersfield and the surrounding areas obviously haven't - nowt we as Giants fans can do about that apart from try and get people to come.
