12411.jpg Sing a song of Yorkshire, from the Humber to the Tees
Of cricket, rugby, beer, of pudding and of cheese
I know no other county where the land is quite so fine
England's lovely county. And I'm proud to call it mine
Where shining purple heather stretches far across the moor
And the lapwing's cry above me takes the place of traffic roar
And peace comes drifting gently, there's no place I'd rather be
Than this land of hills and valleys, from the Pennines to the sea
So when I've done my roaming, and when my step grows slow
When heart and mind assure me that the time has come to go
Then let me rest in Yorkshire, for its there I want to lie
'Neath sun and wind and heather... and a gleaming Yorkshire sky:12411.jpg |

To me, boxing is like a ballet, except there's no music, no
choreography and the dancers hit each other.

Quote: "HUDDERSFIELD-BORN hero Leroy Cudjoe crowned another excellent wing performance with a stunning hat trick of tries as the Giants made it five Super League wins on the trot to close in on a place in the top-eight play-offs.
The 21-year-old former Newsome Panthers junior’s three tries were at the heart of another rock-solid Giants display that left opponents Catalans Dragons trailing in their wake.
Although the French tried almost every trick in the book – some legal, some not so! – to unsettle their hosts, they had no real answer to Cudjoe and Co.

| Quote: "CATALANS coach Kevin Walters has heaped praise on the Giants and the consistency they have shown throughout the Super League XIV season.
The former Australian Test star admitted his Dragons were no match for Huddersfield as the hosts romped to their 36-12 triumph and had no complaints at all about the result.
“We started the game well, but it’s about the whole 80 minutes and over that time Huddersfield were better than us,” he conceded.
“They are a good side and have been playing consistent football all season. We’ve been a bit up and down with what we’ve been doing and I think that showed through.
“But, as I said, I don’t think that should take anything away from the way Huddersfield played.
“We had a couple of players missing, but so did the opposition.
“They deserved the win.
“This defeat hasn’t helped us in our battle to get into the play-offs, but we’re still alive, as a lot of other teams are as well, and it’s not the end of the road for us.”

It's surprising who you see when you're sat at the front.
On a personal note today I thought the stewards were exceptional today. With us taking our 4week old and Two year old to the game both for the first time (choose a quiet one) we sat right at the front with the pram. I had to exit to grab the rain cover from the car and then we were escorted round the pitch with the pram to save us walking all round the stadium.
We didn't do too bad - took us 2 hours to get ready and only managed to leave 1 item (the changing bag with everything in it) at home.

Lunt got hit as he passed the ball so the player was committed and there was no way of avoiding the collison. Lunt will prob miss next weeks game because a slight concussion (I think theres a mandatory 7 day layoff isnt there? with a concussion) but he was out at half time and sat on the bench talking to the subs etc.
Hodgson (B) had an accidental clash of heads when he got tackled in the in-goal area. Don't think there was any malice in it at all.
I think the game was a very physical one played but two large forward packs but dont think there were any thugish tactics. My only gripe would be the speed of the ruck which seemed slow. Overall I think Mr Bentham had a good game and dealt with everything he had to whilst trying to maintain the flow of the game'"
From a fairly neutral perspective (although cheering & wanting the Giants to win) i think that sum's up the game fairly well, Fartown handled what is well known as the 'toughest' pack in SL very well indeed and were fairly clinical when required.....
Quote: PBGIANT "
He penalised Finnegan (IIRC) at one point for flopping, when the tackle hadnt been completed when he went to join in, yet time and again the Cats players were piling a third man on as the Giants player was getting up'"
Finnegan's big mistake there was giving himself up by flinging his arms in the air and looking at the referee straight away, almost comical..... he should watch Kevin Sinfield do it for a masterclass in deception

Surprised about the one on B Hodgson - it looked late, high and reckless at the time. Not seen the replay though, obviously it wasn't as bad as it looked.

The only reason Hodgson got injured was that he was facing the stand and wasn't expecting the tackle caught him by surprise, hard but legitimate .....

If you catch the ball in goal is it automatically a 20 metre tap or have you the choice of playing on? If it's a 20 metre tap that's why Brett wasn't expecting to be tackled as there was no point.
