They share the same stadium, offices and quite a lot of the fan base and hopefully some of that winning mentality and professionalism would rub off onto us.'"
Can't ever recall a town game being moved because Fartown suddenly thought they were the dogs Gonads and wanted pampering and extra day for the pitch to recover mate, i know it's easy for you to say get over it being a big town fan but not all of us are and i couldn't give a flying one how well town are doing (we usually take points of them anyway) nor what league they are in, it bothers me that Fartown fans have to be inconvenienced when it's hard enough for us to get people in as it when for 20+ years we've had Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun fixtures without a problem till Town suddenly decide they're more important cos they are finally having a good season.

Exactly. It's great that the 2 clubs are now working together after a previously fractured relationship. Hopefully this leads to a lot more mutual cooperation, joint marketing ventures and people wandering over from the roundball game to realise what a great product RL is, and what a good club The Giants are.

I can't recall town moving a game for giants for any reason...

| town had a say on the workington game going ahead so suppose we have returned the favour , just a bigger one!
the hull fc game prob on the thurs and not the sunday due to short turnaround the week after..player welfare and all that.
is town doing well really good for the giants??? i think it will make it harder for us to attract new fans to rugby league when football is already king in this town.
the premiership is there for town though at the moment and money talks ...and its big money so if they do reach the promised land then we best get used to it.
if they do then it will help the hd one project big time too....

| I fall into the positive camp on this one. A good, cooperative relationship between the Giants and Town can only be good in my opinion. So we have had to concede this time but hey they now owe us. Let's hope that both can be as successful as possible.

| Well i'm sceptical, i think now they've seen how we have just accepted it they will expect it every time.
If both clubs want a good relationship maybe the football side may want to issue an apology to the rugby side and in particularly Ken Davy for the absolute vile stuff that was thrown about a few years ago, which, as SG as already mentioned, was encouraged and commended by their Chairman !.
For years we've been equals in the stadium , let's not become their puppets all of a sudden.

I don't think that's true tbh Daz. I've been to many Q&A's with Dean Hoyle and he's been asked a number of questions re Davy, and he never once commended any form of abuse or anything I'd class as "vile". Not to my recollection anyway.

| its not even a fixture clash though....
its just giving the ground staff 1 extra day to sort the grass out!!
so in future if town play a game one day after us this could mean we have to move every game to two days!!!
could be very bad for us not having a regular game day, after all the publicity of making friday nights giants night....

After that prolonged hate campaign against SKD,BCB actually came out and thanked the leaders of that hatefest, says it all.
Just wondering why we could not have moved these games to Sunday.Putting them back to Wednesday & Thursday helps no one, neither the Friday night preference people or Sunday afternoon pref peeps.'"
bigger turnaround in days for the fixture week after id imagine... thurs to sunday rather than sunday to sunday.
had to consult hull fc and catalans
wonder if we will get some compensation in future if they reach the promiseland

| from thewlis's quotes its seems town were concerned that their games would be cancelled due to the pitch being ripped up?!??!?! what a joke, when has this ever happened in all the years the two clubs have played together at the stadium??
i think the giants have been wrongly done too here and its not on
i think a few season ticket holders who cant make the games now due to other commitments on the evenings may be asking for a refund , i know of one already

| At the time ken's address was put on their fans forum by, I believe their supporters group, more or less urging people to go and abuse him over the shares issue and I cannot remember Hoyle once condemning this action but praised the overall campaign.
We should tell them to stuff it, we need to pleasing our own fans before any football club !!!

Generally the pitch is a terrible mess during the first half of our season. Particularly around the goal mouth and centre circle, which is wear caused solely by football.
By the time we hand it back over to them in the autumn, a combination of summer and no football means it's generally in good nick.
