| first round of the carling cup, dont think many are bothered about that!
a tuesday night and all pay on the turnstiles?
plus a game on saturday which will have a bigger crowd i think 11k is pretty good taking all that into account.
imagine if we had a buddies cup game on a tuesday night what would we get

| There were a lot of Bradford fans in the away end.
More than we have had from visiting fans except the Rhinos

Yet their brave bid came to a stunning end when Cudjoe stepped out of the defensive line to intercept a pass and then run away for a 90-metre effort. (Times 2)

| I was going to post something on this after the game there were 4000 of us there on Tuesday (Bradford City fans) yes I follow the Giants and Bradford City (long story that I won't bore you with) but what I noticed in the BRITANNIA Rescue stand was a large number of juveniles dressed up (as we did in the 80"s I'm afraid to say) in their refinery (Burberry. Lacoste and the like) more interested in watching us than the game acting all hard when if there had been any hint of trouble they'd have all probably gone running. The best part of the evening was when a mouthy 15 year old (at best) was lead out for jesticulating. Looked like he was about to burst into tears bless. If that's the audience that the woof boys attract then I am glad they don't attend Giants games. Slightly puzzled as to why they sing 'love will tear us apart' by Joy Division too??? Anyone care to divulge?

Its "Vaughan, Vaughan will tear you apart again" thats the guy who put 2 past you on the night Very one sided game and if it wasn't for some poor town finishing the game would have been over long before you scored your consolation goal.
Pot calling the kettle black with regards to your take on towns audience, take a good hard look at some of the so called "supporters" the chickens attract!!!!!
My take on the crowd issue is that we need to break the duck and win some significant silverwear before the crowds start coming back. Both Huddersfield clubs seem to get everyones expectations up then knee us in the b$$$$$s leading to disapointment and false dawns, hopefully 2013 will be a different story

Thats the singing section - best part of being an away fan at a town match is watching that lot watching us for 90 minutes..and turning round right quickly when there is a cheer from the crowd on case they miss something. Very entertaining at times.

| Until the shares issue is resolved, we're going to hover around 5,000-7,000. Those non-existent town fans garner much support.
Truth.

Somewhere in the dust of time rest the bones of the Galilean
He who was spat upon. He whose face was marred beyond all human likeness
Somewhere buried among the lies of the past rests the tomb of Yeshua
Of he who was made God in a world without Hope.
And when this son of Joseph is found. What then will the Church of Rome say?
Prepare yourself for the day is coming. And men will say
"Blessed are the wasted lives who perished in the flames of the holy war": |

But you can't compare numbers. Soccer is a massive market sport which attracts big crowds. The top club has a 75,000 average attendance, they even have people who buy tickets simply to have a ticket and then don't attend. The top club in RL attracts only 15-16,000. Towns average attendance last year would have made them one of the top three supported RL teams in this country.
Plus Town are one of only three league soccer clubs in the third most densely populated areas outside London. The other two, West Midlands and Greater Manchester, have 6 and 8 clubs respectively and Town had the lowest average attendance of any of the clubs from those areas currently playing in their division or higher. Town got promoted last year and saw their attendances increase by only approx 1,000 fans. That's an increase of about 7%, not much. In fact their crowds haven't increased much for 5 years despite an increasing feel good factor and a boom in general attendances.
The only way you could genuinely compare our crowds to Towns is as a proportion of the top clubs. Ours vary between about 40-50% of the top clubs. Towns are 20%. Town would need to be filling the stadium every week before you could begin to say their crowds were comparable to ours. They aren't.
It's about time we ended this "Huddersfield is a soccer town" myth. It isn't, it is a town that has been deprived of sporting success for many, many years and has whole generations of fans who either don't watch sport or support teams from outside the area.

Gees bit touchy aren't we. I couln't hear what the kids were singing hence the question. 'My take' was on a section of your audience not all of them yes every club has some undesirables I was passing comment on the number of younger kids throwing abuse etc. Makes you wonder where their parents are.

interesting about this shares issue, so if it the shares we given back what do you think out average would jump too?
5000-7000 is still pretty good from where we have come from in such a short space of time, we just beat ourselves up about it but need to remember what crowds we were getting at the start of super league and for the older ones at fartown!
