Giants still have the best defence record in the league.
if only we could keep the ball and be patient, we would break teams down

| Dont think its time for anderson to go just yet, but if we continue to go backwards then what choice do we have at the end of the season... davy to pump more money in? cant see that happening.
we are 3 points off the top 4 which i think is the aim we are going for its a tight league, if we fail to get in the top 4 then questions have to be asked.
right now you can see the players are working damn hard for each other so anderson hasnt lost the dressing room, its just need the players to hold onto the ball and not panic when we are behind with 20mins left!

| Quote Ambergiant="Ambergiant"Well Life. Have you got any favourite Players? Seems like you think they are all Rubbish. Call yourself a Supporter. Times like this when real Support counts.'"
You don't know me so don't question my support. I've been around a long time and stood by the club through thin and thin and will continue to do so.
Read the post. Do I like anybody? I've said I think Jerry would make a good captain, I don't think Grix would.
Where else have I slagged any other player off?
I'm not Grix's biggest fan and prefer Connor. So what that's my opinion. If you don't like it fine.
At least you're not telling me to crawl back under my stone today you idiot.

| basic errors, professional players making basic errors that are costing us games.
someone explain exactly how the coach is to blame for that??
as for captain, i agree that brough's game does get affected when things aren't going right and he gets frustrated with ref's, maybe that could be a bold move to take the captaincy off him, but would he then do a lunt and sulk?
if we need another captain, then robbo? he's pretty passionate when he needs to be, commands respect seemingly and would probably deal with refs better than danny?

| Quote adamhuddsgiant="adamhuddsgiant"Anderson shouldn't go! His system isn't working at the moment but we have not been turned over once excluding the fc game! Even if we finished 9th it would be his mess to sort! Although If we finished 9th I would expect the club to see if anyone was available for the 2016 season!
Wigan by 8
Leeds by 4
Salford by 6
Hull kr by 4
Saints by 3
Bar hull we have been competitive in every fixture with every game being in the balance! 6 try's over those games above and we would be on 18 points! All its and buts however the league is so tight that a few wins strung together we will be back up there'"
And just think how many chances we 'bomb' every game - if we could hold the ball we would have won every one of those comfortably !!!

| Meast,
To give my answer to your question and I would add that I am not calling for the Coaches head, but nor do I think he is blameless for our current disappointing form:
The Coach is responsible for preparing the team, if the team consistently do the wrong things then he is not getting his message over.
Unfortunately our players are as a group mentally weak at this time. Losing too many close games and just not performing in too many matches.
The players and coaches are saying all the right things, but I question whether the players currently believe what they are saying.
The Coach should be able to influence our players to prevent our captain losing the rag whenever a decision goes against us. It should not come as a surprise that refs get things wrong.
The Coach should be able to influence the players to encourage greater patience.
Often our moves are stifled by defences that are not back the full 10 - the Coach should have us prepared to deal with that - every other team in the league faces skinny 10s and most fare better than us in dealing with them. I think that is because we go wide early too often. A tactic that is high risk but currently low reward.
Are things entirely down to the coach? I don't think so, but he must take a lead in finding the improvement.
Is changing the coach the solution? I don't think it is time for that.

Simple question for you measty, what's the difference between a basic error or a non basic error?

| I thought it was a much improved performance from the last game I saw which was Salford. We looked up for it, got in their faces and showed the right stuff, unfortunately so did Saints and it was a very even encounter. A bounce of the ball, a stuck pass or a different reffing decision would have meant we'd have the 2 points.

| Personally I don't want to see Anderson go. He is an inexperienced coach who is showing his frailties. Clearly he is coaching a very basic game-plan. Maybe he thinks the current ayers are not capable of more?
I would like to see an old head come in to oversee the whole operation - like Salford did with Tim Sheens. It yielded a huge upturn in their form.
The team are badly lacking an enforcer. Boy do we miss Luke O'donnell and Stu Fielden in that regard. Teams come to the JS Stadium knowing they can rule us and nobody will get a crack. We are s big powerful outfit but don't frighten anybody.
It needs addressing urgently.

| You cannot coach anything other than a basic game plan in those conditions. Every opponent has been just as conservative with their tactics. If anything we have been tring to play too much rugby for the conditions.

When he first became our coach he demanded we get the basics right before we try the fancy attacking play. We did that and we won the LLS.
I agree with that tactic completely. Rain or shine we need to earn the right to do more.
However! Are our players not happy with that style of play? Have they now got too big for their boots and think they should just play how they know they can without worrying about what Anderson will say at half time?
Maybe all of that is far from the truth and the players are happy playing the coaches game but I do question if Anderson has a good attacking plan sometimes.
He is inexperienced as you say but that for where we are as a team is a good thing because he's doing a good job.
I don't think he needs a hand with responsibilities. I trust him to get us through the season with us pushing hard for silverware.
