i said last night apart from the expansion clubs i cant remember seeing such a poor turnout of away fans,especially more surprising since cas have always been one of the better supported clubs.
we have proved over time that friday night games just dont work for us,was talking to people last night and all seemed to pick up on the same thing, that a lot of our fans are traditional RL fans who want to watch the game played on sunday afternoons,i know fans should support their teams whatever and all that but its a lot harder to break with tradition.

but still 5,800 of our own supporters is still a big improvement from 3 or 4 years ago

What would you have expected the crowd to be if it was played on sunday then?

Surprisingly last season this fixture got 6,010 according to SL Stats, I thought it was more than that. Certainly last season Cas brought many more than they did last night, although not as many as they brought in the CC game.

Oh well not to worry.

30 % of OUR SEASON TICKET HOLDERS do not attend evening K.O. s particularly the late one on a friday night.

On a sunday afternoon i would have expected anywhere between 800 and 1200 extra Giants fans . With it not been on sky and with the extra walk up there would have been over 7500 even then it is not enough but i doubt there would have been much criticism of a crowd like that.

That was my thought too DG, sunday would have seen this with about 7-8k attendance

we are going over old ground really as meast says the problem is definately friday nights at 8 on sky for whatever reason we always suffer a fall in attendance for these matches, the good thing is at least now we are getting nearly 6k on a friday were as we used to get 3k of home support, i know 5 people who didnt go last night who are all season ticket holders.

I know 4 who did not go last night who are season ticket holders. Fridays is no good for those who have to travel

We may not have played all that well the last couple of games but our points for tells everyone we're as entertaining as at least 9 teams in this league.

We can throw it around as good as anyone when we hit our straps.

Phil Clarke would disagree with you heavily on that point. On quite a few occasions he's said he gets excited when he hears he's going to a Giants match.

Now that's a mental image I didn't want on a sunday morning.
