| The club needs to have a different season ticket system.
Because of the non Sunday matches And holidays I didn't buy a season ticket this year as with holidays and one pre planned weekend I would miss between 3 and 5 home matches this season. It would have cost me around £40 more to buy a season ticket than pay in advance in game week.
For example I go to Florida 1st September for two weeks and miss the Cas and Wire matches so can't buy a special ticket for the Super 8's either.
My suggestion would be a full season ticket at say £235 £16.78 per match
A 10 match season ticket @ £18 per match £180
A half season ticket @ £19 per match £133
That way people who miss matches or can't get midweek can get a season ticket of sorts the club gets the pre commitment it wants and guaranteed money up front everyone's happy and the bigger the commitment the lower the cost !!

Tricky one as a few full season ticket holders would probably drop to a lesser price level as they buy now knowing they will miss games but do it as that is the only real option but the £180 on your figures is better than not buying at all which I think will be a real.issue next season as after this year's fixture schedule and especially the Super 8s I can see numbers dipping however we end the season through no fault of anyone at the club just the reality of cost and the number of midweek games.
As I'm in Glasgow, Dublin and New York at various times during the Supers 8s Sky will be a God send for watching games I could not make anyway but whilst in the short term that is great for me for our club it is probably the biggest factor in sales not just of seasons but match day tickets and people keep saying it needs to be addressed but unless Sky give up on Thursday's we know it won't.

| The number of mid week games is becoming alarming now the super 8s schedule is included and will hit ST sales IMHO. It will stop my folks as of next year being a season ticket holders, even though they are pensioners and enjoy they OAP discount. Its making me consider my options although this is due to travelling over from Manchester for games as I have to factor in travel from various workplaces and family commitments. I think its been hit on the head when people talk of the uncertainty of fixture dates. There does need to be some flexibility in ST options, otherwise gates are only going one way in the short to medium term. I've often noted how late games finish in the week when we invariably have video decisions in the game, the frequent evening games are going to hit the families and like for various reasons.
I think the balance is tipping too much in favour of the TV at the moment and needs to redressed otherwise we could end up with attendances only going down, we are a spectator sport first and foremost, the RL and clubs need to remember this.

| My ideas a simple one.
We need to win something like all the clubs that have decent attendances.

That's the equivalent of us getting 1,800 against an NRL team, and some people on here castrated the club for not spending £180,000 on the very same thing !

It's because they played a Spanish club they got the gate. If we played South Sydney in a preseason friendly so would we.

| Quote: forwardpass "Hi,
I have been a Fartown fan for many many years now and this is the FIRST year I have not been down to watch home or away. I have been a season ticket holder and I have also paid on the gate.
The reason for me not coming this year is I have found it hard to commit because the games that are on Thursday, Friday and Saturday I can't make... There has not been many Sunday games this year at home...
Thats my reason.. You can call me slack for not attending when a Sunday game is on but you do get out of the habbit and get used to listening to it on the radio...
Cheers'"
I know exactly what he is talking about. Firstly it is SKY that is the main problem, moving match days to Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon. There are only 2 days in the week they don`t use.
Following on from this unpredictability of game days, if you can only get on Sundays (I can do any) you can tend to lose interest in the game. My example is when Huddersfield were not playing on Sunday I used to go and watch Dewsbury or Batley as we are sure they are playing Sunday, but having premier sports I have 6 or 7 games a week of NRL to watch, which got me out of the habit of attending Dewsbury or Batley games and now I don`t feel as though I am missing anything not going.

it was deportivo (struggling in la liga) not Real madrid or Barcelona!
just mentioning the crowd figure, not saying if it was a good one or not for the football.
was interesting to see how many turned up for a warm up game against a team of players no one would know.

the £180k would have been returned to the club as it was a bond.
it was more the fact the club saw it as not really worth playing as nothing to win rather than to do with money.
they wanted to see how it went, i think it was a success the series(barring the losses) and hope the club would take up the option next time if qualifying. Thats could be very hard this time round!
