| Quote: devoniangiant "As a ST holder - walk up prices don't effect me but £24 is too much. I pre buy away tickets for this reason and the fact that it helps the Giants by buying through them. But then I am a committed fan and RL would be the last thing to economise on if I had to (except maybe the mortgage as the kids seem to like having a bed to sleep in - strange girls
The Wigan example is a good one. They had great success with the 'big one' matches, where they made a special effort to get a focused increase on that matches attendance. They also highlight other matches and make seem like standalone events.
We could echo this type of approach. Certain deals, focused marketing, assosciated events etc. I know that the club do this to a certain extent, but I feel it could be expanded upon.
Other ideas that have legs are flexi card type deal and tiered pricing. 5 cat 1 matches for £100, 5 cat 2 matches for for £75 etc (just throwing figures out, so don't hold the maths against me.) I for one would be tempted by this kind of deal. Due to distance, I struggle getting to all matches, and something like this would be very tempting.
I also like the idea of club memberships. So for people who don't want the outlay of a ST, but want to feel part of the club, this could be a way of extra revenue being generated. Most nrl clubs do this, and seems to work well. Benefits could be discounted walk up prices for certain or even all games, pin badge, membership card, etc.

No problems. PM them to me if you don't want the general public to read them beforehand.

| £24 is too high. I think it needs to be about £16

| I agree that as a season ticket holder i wouldn't be that bothered if people on the day were paying the same or not too far off what i was, i buy a season ticket because it's easier for me, i can pay in installments and once its paid for i knwo i have a ticket for every home game so dont have to worry about finding the money come gameday.
I buy mine for convenience more than the actual price per game it costs and certainly wouldn't bother me if 5,000 extra were coming and only paying £1 more a game than me !!.
I also think a similar idea to Wigan's 'big one' is a good idea, we could market them as the 'Giant match' etc and target not only schools/colleges but large companies around the town, choose a certain one for each game and let their workers buy tickets at a reduced rate. It may not pay off it may lose money but surely it's worth a try.
As we have seen with the cheap ticket deals it doesn't actually seem to boost crowd numbers, away fans love them and come in droves, but not in the home stands as all this does is mean that people who use cheap tickets picked up from elsewhere for SL games can still get into a game for cheap, the lower ticket deals are only bringing in the same people who usually come but for cheaper and we need new fans as well as the existing fans coming in cheap !!.

| Another thing you need to realise is that not only do we allow under 12's in for free but we're the only club who has one price for all stands! Also like for like we're relatively cheaper than everyone else! Something has to give as its not sustainable! This idea of a part season ticket is bandied as being the same price as we sold full season tickets a few seasons ago it didn't help the overall average attendance! Plus it doesn't help the on the day deciders!
I often wonder how our attendances would be affected if we had cards rather than vouchers for season tickets obviously more would have to pay the full match day price maybe then that entry price is substantially reduced!

Somewhere in the dust of time rest the bones of the Galilean
He who was spat upon. He whose face was marred beyond all human likeness
Somewhere buried among the lies of the past rests the tomb of Yeshua
Of he who was made God in a world without Hope.
And when this son of Joseph is found. What then will the Church of Rome say?
Prepare yourself for the day is coming. And men will say
"Blessed are the wasted lives who perished in the flames of the holy war": |

| Of course 6 pages moaning the price is too high and doesn't give value for money is great publicity for the club. They must be soooooo happy.

| My apologies.
5 and a half pages of people moaning £24 is too much with the occasional bit of sense from some posters who understand economic reality and don't live in a world of unicorns, rainbows and no such thing as bills.

| I do get it. You can get a family ticket next door at the odeon for about £24 and get approximately the same time of entertainment for a family of four there as for 1 adult at the stadium.
The clubs problem is reducing the prices hasn't persuaded more to come- so they may as well just charge £24. That's down to apathy on the part of sometime supporters and they can't really complain.
BUT there are people who just cannot make enough games for a season ticket to be value for money-for that reason I really think the flexi ticket or some sort of membership thing is the way to go.

| I agree if you aren’t a regular fan then £24 seems quite high.....but once you’re hooked you’re hooked! I started watching the odd game in 2009 and after a few years I now rarely miss a game (home or away).
I think it’d be quite a good idea to get the cheerleaders out into the centre of town a few times a week/weekends (if schedules allow) and get them handing out vouchers - say £5 off your ticket this weekend type thing...

Ther is the "hooked" effect as we are similar in watching the odd RL game now and then a few years back and now travelling from Derby every Sunday to either watch Giants or Crusaders (and if really slumming it South Wales Scoropions!!!). I think the problem RL has if unlike us you only watch one team is the fact you could go a couple of months with only 1 or 2 Sunday home games and away games on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sundays (as indeed the next few months pan out for us) it is very easy to get out of the habit of going to games and the current state of SL where blow outs are becoming more and more common will not help matters.
Not sure there is an answer as clubs like Leeds and Saints seem happy with Friday night games as most non TV fixtures on a Sunday afternoon would help but I think it is a case of we are where we are and tinkering a few pounds with the price will not make much difference though still think making the FM Stand a "cheap" enclosure might be not a bad idea with perhaps a few hundred tickets put up for sale by the away team to get round any arguments about like for like pricing.
