When it stops me I do not post.

You say you can't be bothered...and then post icon_lol.gif

Stopping yourself appears to be the real challenge. icon_rolleyes.gif

sorry forgot we cant criticise grix can we...but the stats back up that his tackling is poor...very hard worker and great under the high ball too on the plus side for him

missed tackles for giants this season-

grix - 28
Cudjoe - 20
robinson - 19

cudjoe hasnt been performing well so far this season but is one of my fave players, as an international he should be producing more at the moment than he is

For me this a simple choice of where you want to be as a Giants fan.

Right now we have a team of very promising young lads drafted together from our own Academy, mixed with others released by other clubs for whatever reason that NB has developed in to genuine SL talent. Add to that a good sprinkle of true overseas talent, a squad that has good/adequate cover for most positions in the event of injury/loss of form, and players represented in both England teams (with more unlucky not to be selected or not to be selected at a higher level). We have a great platform for the future and with half the season gone are now recognised as a true top 4 side that is still challenging for all trophies. Life is pretty damn good right now. For Pete's sake we all know that we have seen the club in much much worse predicaments not that long ago.

So back to Eden. I would sign this guy today on a long term contract. Yes he makes mistakes - but boy is he exciting to watch and he does offer a genuine threat in attack whilst in the main doing a very good job at returning the ball. He does need to work on his mistakes, and I also think that he has done better previously in his organisation of the defence - BUT his potential is fantastic and he will only get better by playing.

For me Eden would be one of the first names on the teamsheet every week!!!

For all you doubters - similar concerns have been expresssed on this forum for other players that are now regular first teamers. Leroy for example showed great promise early on, got exposed defensively sometimes, went through the steep learning curve by being pitted against far more experienced opposition players - but look at him now!!!

Eden needs the same development track - and I for one am happy to watch this happen (mistakes and all) in eager anticipation of him fully reaching his potential. I dream of the day we finally win at Wembley with someone like Eden having a stormer and named as MOM. KEEP THE FAITH!!!

Who are all these doubters? The main issue here is some posters think around 33 errors - the worst in SL - needs significant attention while others think it far less important.

I hope eden's development track is better than Leroy's. ATM I would select Murph over Cudjoe.

Perhaps we should give up on Eden then and sign a proven FB like Wellens on a long term deal icon_biggrin.gifANCE:

Yet their brave bid came to a stunning end when Cudjoe stepped out of the defensive line to intercept a pass and then run away for a 90-metre effort. (Times 2) Roses are red Violets are purple The Giants are sweeter than Maple Surple.:

Quote: devoniangiant "Life would be VERY boring if we all agreed - Murph is not anywhere near the class of Leroy BTW nor does he have the potential of Eden One thing that Crapsinger (abbr.) fails to grasp is, at the moment NB regards GE as a 'work in progress' and as such, errors are to be expected.
In a perfect world young lads would reach maturity possessing all the skills possible to achieve perfection in their chosen sport. Unfortunately we don't enjoy perfection in anything we do, so I would suggest that some sort of balance be observed when offering opinion on a young talent who can only be abversely affected by some of the posts on this board.
Gregg, Murph, Leroy,Gerry, Bob, Joe and Bruno are our future and I am delighted by the prospect icon_biggrin.gifANCE: icon_biggrin.gifANCE: icon_biggrin.gifANCE: icon_biggrin.gifANCE:

When both play top end then leroy offers more than murph in attack. Murph is a far better defender. Unfortunately leroy's 'class' is so rarely on show and murph is a consistently good player.

What you fail to grasp is.....rugby league. Players make errors but making by far the most in SL when your involvement is far lower than other ball players is dreadful. Hiding behind the notion of 'project player' 'work in progress' does not cut it.

Your point about lack of balance is well made. The numpties who act like the three wise monkeys when it comes to GEs performance errors do need to get a grip. As for a player being adversley influenced by comments on here....how lame!

I guess i agree with Wayne Bennett when he uses the american sport quote of "defence wins titles, offence sells tickets". I want us to win a title now rather than get excited about a few neat attacking plays and jam tomorrow. Part of title winning defence is not making errors in your own 20 / 30 M....this appears to be an 'unpalatable truth' for some Giants fans.

Sorry just realised I've made a massive faux pas - incorrect use of the word supporting.

What's the big deal here? Both sides of the perceived "argument" are correct. Eden is clearly a talented and exciting player. Also, he clearly makes too many errors. There's nothing wrong with stating either of those points.

icon_rolleyes.gif Where have I said all I want is titles? Show me. Or are you resorting to making up my posts? oh dear. Tilting at windmills icon_lol.gif

I don't think supporting the Giants and wanting titles should be mutually exclusive. maybe you do. I do think winning titles and making lots of errors in your 20/30M (especially when the opposition dont even have possession) are probably mutually exclusive.

All the posts I have seen suggestiing that Eden needs to make significant cuts in his errors have not questioned GEs ability. Quite the contrary. I was sooo critical that I suggested that if GE cuts his errors he will soon be an England player (harsh I know icon_rolleyes.gif )

There are some posters who are not only happy to plod along with all these 'learning' errors. they resort to saying posters like me want GE dropped, that we know nothing about the game and even question whether we are genuine supporters (pathetic i know). All because as Giants supporters some posters think that around 3 errors a game, mainly in our 20/30M and mainly when the opposition do not have possession is not consistent with winning titles.

i see what you're getting at eusa_clap.gif If we sign the entire Queensland squad and GE becomes the best full back in the world then we could win something...agreed.
