Any side who losing at home so convincingly to a side as limited as Salford is clearly showing no signs of improvement. That's just you trying to kid yourself you were correct all along about Stone.

You lost by a less margin under Stone to St Helens and they are top of the league.

forgot we have also lost to salford for the last 5 seasons at home, some teams always have that bogey team! i didnt expect us to win, even put money on it!

Yes we did- first home game in, we actually played with the team we’d trained with in pre season- without the pile more injuries we’ve had since then. We had all but Leroy, symonds and Wakeman from our first choice 17 in that saints game Leroy and symonds took no part in pre season anyway, and Wakeman only limited.
Since then we have had between 9 and 11 players on the treatment table every week (not the same 9-11 just to exacerbate the situation) and at least theee each week playing with injections

Do you think that outcome would be the same had saints been without barba, swift, makinson, amor, lms, tai, peyroux, roby coming back from a three week concussion protocol having to play a full game oh and no second choice fullback or wing either so matty smith at fullback. What do you reckon?

Improvement in performance? A good point against Leeds then thumped in every other match, at no point ever looking likely to win. Sacking Stone is one thing, leaving Thorman in charge is disastrous, however nice a chap he may be.

A 62 point defeat. So are you still going to delude yourself you're seeing an 'improvement' under your interim coach or finally be honest and admit you were wrong all along and things are now far worse than under Stone?

at least we have a new coach set to come in and thats a fresh approach and maybe just maybe might change the culture but will he be allowed to bring in hiw own backroom staff?? not a chance.

for all that no coach could get a win in super league with the amount of injuries we have..end of story.

Stone was not the issue and never was its those out on the field!!

which ones? half the team out injured most the time!

so maybe the issue is with that... signing crocked players? not fit? wrong physios etc

Really, we’re reaping the rewards of a policy of releasing Australia and New Zealand internationals (yes, we had plenty on the books) and replacing them with lower league players who aren't up to SL standards.

Stone may have helped us to stay up, got us in the 8 last year- but he made us a poorer side as he went about that, both in the way they play and the personnel in it.
Also- At the moment if it wasn’t for bad luck we’d have no luck at all.
The best coach in the world would have a difficult job on his hands.
We need a miracle.

There will be plenty who agree with this, or at least won't disagree. Myself i have always thought a good coach will be able to get even ordinary players playing to their best, I have often sited Murphy and Brown in this respect, but i agree that the players have to want to do it.

There has been a pattern at Fartown for quite some time of players coming to us with good reputations and doing nothing at all, When they get moved on to other clubs many of them become good players once again, On the other side of that coin we have players like "Murphy for example" who never stops trying and get slated by some on here as letting us down .or not being good enough.

Others players have a couple of good games and they are talked of being legends and need signing for long contracts, a few months later they are mediocre, many we have let go as not being good enough only for them to become good players elsewhere and that just makes you think the coaching is to blame , but then we have had so many coaches, have they all been poor except for Murphy and Brown ?.
Anyway we are now bottom of the table, a position we got well used to a few seasons ago, only this time we will not be allowed to sit there season after season because there is no-one to take our place and we shall just have to live with the consequences " should it happen ".

We are certainly not 'too good to go down' even with our first choice team we lack creativity and have ageing/nowhere near good enough halfbacks. If things dont change i see us not even making the million pound game, we are the worst team in the competition by some distance with the team we have on the field at the moment. The players coming back will improve us for sure, but not in the key halfback area. We are in real trouble, make no mistake.
