Brough can win us games single handedly, still does
Though I think he needs a strong halfback partner to lead the team up field, Robbo did that job and imo was why we won the LLS
Brierly has a mass of talent but is dominated by Brough into second fiddle, maybe Gaskel has shown q bit more strength - maybe Gaskel and Brierly is a better combo still? Or at least where our future lies
Brierly will be back. He has too much talent, Brough is still one of best half backs in the game though

| Was feeling positive on way back but reading this enough to depress anyone! Not perfect by any means but a massive improvement....great commitment, better attacking wise and Gaskell showed who should be half back with Brough. Minimum standard set, build on this and we'll be fine....personally thought everyone contributed and should really have won it in the last few mins.
How many expected a big defeat? An unexpected point gained...credit where credit is due!

| I thought a draw was a fair result in the end, I thought you were going to snatch it with your last set of six but a great chase on Brough to put him off saved us, a bit gutted we went wide in our last set with next to nothing on the clock, a couple of drives and then a pot luck drop attempt from half way would have been my call.
Can't complain though, as Wane said after the match, "We got away with it".
Turned into an even better point when we heard the Salford/Cas result in the car

Being honest i was expecting a big defeat going on what we had seen from both sides, needless to say Delighted with what we did get, Won't get carried away because we did that a few times last season but it shows they have it in them to compete, and something for RS to work on.

| Quote: Hangermans "Agree about Brough. Although he is generally our best player on the pitch (although maybe not as much recently) i do feel that he stifles those around him somewhat, and for all his brilliance he really can't cope with pressure situations. Put the two together and this is why we often lose close games. Other players feel that brough has to be the one to make the calls and he often doesn't handle those situations well.
That being said he is the best player i've personally ever seen in the claret and gold since i started watching during the Murphy era, but every dog has his day!'"
i agree
gaskell had a perfect chance to drop a goal at the end but its like hes scared to have a go incase of a brough backlash
think the last player to have a bash at a drop goal was cudjoe against leeds, guess what ..it went over!!

yep we got a point which we would have taken
but lets not kid ourselves with better management of that game from the players it should have been two

| 1st thing i mentioned on leaving the ground was how once again bad game management has cost us again.
Apart from that there were some great performances and some great attack and defence too.
play like that against Leeds and 2 points will be ours.

| wigan coach moaning about how the game was slowed down to suit us
he soon got his players onto the ref at half time again....
i think we will have to play better to beat leeds but we always seem to up our game against them

That's something we have struggled with this year so it's good to hear! Looking forward to Friday night against Leeds.
