I have never been a fan of Cudjoe's tackling style my self, I have said so many times, He allows the attacker to get up alongside him and then drags him down from the side, This possibly gives McG the idea the man is through and he comes inside to make a tackle, If the attacker then gets the ball away, the winger is free and clear ( which seems to happen a fair bit )
Having said all that, we do look a poorer side without Cudjoe, especially on attack but something isn't just right down that side on defense, Maybe It's just as simple as Jerry trusting Leroy and staying out to cover his own man, Sure RS will be working on it.

Yes, on attack no problem. He seems to get the ball away to McG with regularity. It's only his tackling technique that I am commenting on.
I would have thought that one of your coaches would have addressed it before. As you say RS may be the one - hopefully!!!! |

i see almost every giants game and saying cudjoe cant defend is utter nonsense. one of the best in our team along with lawrence for tackling
cudjoe is an international player for england and also awarded fans and players player of the year last season
id say its more mcgillvarys defence the problem or the constant changing of second row / half back inside of cudjoe too so understanding could be a problem, wont get better with symonds out now! |

The way I see it- it's down to poor reads by mcgilvary. He often comes in too far leaving space on the edge, then has to charge across to cover the gap, he gets there but then the opposition man just cuts inside leaving jerry wrong footed and turning him, and the player is through, cudjoe is then damned as he can't make the tackle and cover his inside man against a pass. The numbers are right but jerrys positioning wrong.

I really don't get the mega defensive attitude of certain Giants fans when it comes to Cudjoe. If only he had the same attitude towards tackling ......lol
McG obviously doesn't have faith in him, so comes away from his wing when defending.
IMHO RS has a real job on his hands to work magic with him and teach him how to tackle, that none of your previous coaches could.
Here's hoping for Giants sake though. |

How is having a 95% tackle rate not being able to tackle 
I don't get this constant reference to him not being able to tackle- his success rate states otherwise.
I'm not saying he doesn't make mistakes- he does, many, just like brough does, just like jerry does but there's this unwritten rule it seems that you can only blame certain players but not others.
Mcgilvary doesn't have faith in a player who has a much better success rate than himself?
Perhaps he doesn't but hes misguided!
I've explained how I see it. In fact I can predict it before it happens. But then I only watch him every week.... |

If you look back through the thread. I was only agreeing with one of your own on Cudjoe's defensive shortcomings.
I,ve explained how I see it too. your right edge is always vulnerable, mostly due to your Captain's suspect tackling technique.
Tell you what - we'll agree to disagree and I just hope RS hasn't managed to improve his defence when you play us.
