Quote: jools "That won't be easy- they went behind at KR and didn't get over the line until 30 minutes into the game- that didn't seem to knock their confidence. Some luck involved for them to go ahead true but they didn't panic.
Rick stone said last night that Leigh haven't really been in a "grind it out" kind of game and that's what he wants to happen.

If we are patient rather than go all out it could lead to Leigh getting frustrated- We need to play the game on our terms not theirs and Stones idea seems a good one - when we have played like that against teams with big packs such as hull, and Warrington it has paid off.
with Danny broughs boot on song it will put us in a position to be dictating.

A lot of people have written us off saying we've only played lower league opposition in the last three weeks- yes that's true- but we can only play what's in front of us!
And regarding that something to think about.....
London score v Leigh 30
London score v Batley 76
London score v Leeds 28
London score v Giants 4 ......'"

Let's forget the fact that Londons best player who is also a talisman for them did not play against us

Leigh have 8 start which is about right, and nobody within the club is at all arrogant as we still have a lot to do if we are to reach the dream - fans and social media always blow chests out

Quote: fartown since 1961 "Yes most of that I agree with I guess it will be same team with Sam Rapira back if he's fit. No way will Stone play Brierley but having him warm up with the team and not play will be worse for the lad I think than playing.

They have a naturally aggressive pack and we need to stand our ground but I think have the better back line and if we can get on the front foot their backs won't be used to the likes of Gerry and Leroy.

Half back wise I rate Brough the best of the four but on current form Ellis the worst.

No doubt if we turn up we can win but that's what we said at Salford.'"

On his day, Brough is different class. However, if things aren't going Huddersfield's way, will he be prone to 'lose the plot' again? Since Josh Drinkwater arrived at Leigh, Martyn Ridyard has been superb, whatever the opposition - as I believe he showed in wretched conditions at HKR. I've always had a soft spot for Jamie Ellis, since his spell at Leigh and look forward to seeing him again on Saturday. As with everyone else, I can't see Ryan playing this week - it could well harm Huddersfield's cause to have him on - and I think the half back battle could be decisive.

Safe trip over, to all Giants fans - and a miserable trip back!! icon_wink.gif

what yer think we are charlie - blackpool circus without "Paul"?? tut tut!

Were bringing a combined Halle and Liverpool Philharmonic plus the Huddersfield Chorale Society to swell the Hallelujah chorus at the end!!

Arrogance maybe the 2 years previous but not this season. Either way having won 17 straight games including 2 SL clubs you would actually expect more Arrogance than they are showing. The only people shouting on these boards about it are what I would refer to as the usual suspects. There are still several scenarios that could play out should you win on Saturday but obviously if Leigh win and Leeds won then that's SL 2017 for them both. I have everything crossed icon_smile.gif

Stones is wrong to say we've not had to grind out any wins. Fev in the play offs was very close, and there were plenty of games during the regular season that went down to the last few minutes.

I personally think you'll have too much for us on Saturday, but hope to be proved wrong! Have a safe trip over.

You don't think we had to "grind out" any of the close games we've been involved in?

You are not reading my comments. I'm not talking about grinding out a win meaning managing to score more points than the opposition in a close game towards the end by skill and composure in the final minutes. Leigh /fev certainly wasn't The kind of game I'm talking about as there were about 50 points scored in that game! I'm talking about being in a particular STYLE of game. You see plenty in the NRL-defensive, possession and territory based -what can be real borefests. The sort of games that spectators hate.
When was the last time you were in a game with less than 18 points scored....

So your saying Jools that you want the Giants to slow the game down.Leigh have plenty experience of dealing with that sort of a game plan playing in the championship.Last season you would have seen frustration no end with most teams using the same tactic against us.I think they just give up this season as they knew it wasn't working.

Nope I'm not talking about slowing the game down. We will play at a high intensity. The fact that Leigh fans don't seem to recognise the kind of game I mean does suggest you've not had too many of them.

It suggests you don't really know what you're trying to say - or you're just not good at saying it

It's fairly obvious what Jools is saying. She talking about getting Leigh into an arm wrestle. Basically, complete sets, a good kick chase, strong defence, repeat. It's the style of footy that you will regularly see in the NRL.
