We seem to keep nicking these talented amateurs from the grasp of the big clubs, not sure how we do it,but long may it continue
Talented amateur? You do realise you signed him from the Bulls? and he did play first team?

| By the way great result for you guys, personally I think its right what someone said about Hinchcliffe at 13. For me you lose so much of his game at 9. If by some chance you can convince brough to stay id say if you signed an out and out quality 9 a spine of Connor, Brough, Ellis, new 9 and Hinchcliffe would be very good going forward for you. With whats looking more like Gaskell floating about too you should be back to your normal selves next year

Yeah lazy post knew he hadn't come straight from t'amateurs ,but just wonder why didn't the big clubs want to take a punt on him?
We are a small club but we seem to get these class youngsters, watch out for Nathan Mason,Kruis Leeming is now starting to look a deal real.
Thank god for Siddal, well it's almost in Huddersfield.

| Looking at the league table I still think you have a slight chance of the top 8, think it could go down to the last game.

| As soon as we lost to Widnes the 8 was gone, we need to get our form right though for the middle 8s so winning our games is still key

I personally wouldnt say you are a small club anymore. Expectation has risen and you should (I know its been a tough one this year) be challenging again if you get the right coach in place to carry on your development, you have done it the best way slow and steady and not throwing money at over the hill players for instant success. I know it wouldnt be possible without KD putting his money in but its not his fault the people of Huddersfield dont turn up so he has no choice. I have grown a bit of a soft spot for the Giants over the last couple of years

Good team, small club. Smaller mentality.
The trigger for all the disaster this season was the club (supported by many of the fans, it has to be said) deciding they weren't good enough to play an NRL team. That didn't even have the balls to try.
That demonstrated the baked in acceptance of mediocrity that runs through the club like Blackpool through a stick of rock.
BTW it [iis[/i Ken Davy's fault the people of Huddersfield don't buy what he's selling. He should have got his people to work harder or smarter. Blaming your customers is not generally a winning business plan.

Our crap season has had nothing to do with not playing the Aussies.
It wasn't a case of 'deciding we weren't good enough to play an NRL team' - it was purely down to finances that we didn't take part in the club challenge matches. I had this reason straight from the 'horses' mouth and, having had a detailed response explaining why, can understand the decision made - it would have cost the club an absolute fortune to take part.
Acceptance of mediocrity has nothing to do with it - it was a common sense decision of not paying an huge sum (I'm not able to say how much but we're talking a substantial amount!!) for the privelidge of taking part - particularly when the return (gate receipts etc) wouldn't even pay for the ball boys expenses.
