| Quote: FARTOWNFORLIFE "One of the reasons Hinchcliffe is leaving Melbourne is because he wants to play at 9 and for obvious reasons can't get that slot at Melbourne.
I can't remember where, but I remember PA referring to him as a hooker for next year.
Folk have been moaning that we have not bought a decent 7 for a decade and then when there's talk that we are signing the best best available one out there there's a bit of grumbling.
For me it's simple IF we did sign him.
Brough and Fages at HB with Ellis on the bench to cover HB and hooker. Hinchcliffe at 9. Wood and Robbo to go or settle for a place as a squad player.
Kruise to stay and when his contract is up for renewal 2018 Hinchcliffe will be probably going and hopefully Kruise will have learnt his trade.
All a big if at the moment though!'"
Kruise to stay? Why would he, he's started to get regular game time recently- in your scenario he's dropped down to 5th choice hooker and little chance of getting anywhere near the field!!! If he'd any sense he would be on to his agent and looking to go.
Wood is a handy player to have as a squad player, good ethic, and won't be earning much. Robbo and Ellis are commanding too big a wage to be sat in the stands most weeks.
If we hadn't signed Ellis last year, or given Robbo a big extension then maybe it would work.
More than likely fages agent has approached us and that's where the rumour has started.

But maybe not with child running amock.:6243.gif |
|
| Know nothing about the Fages rumours but I do know that Hinchcliffe is coming to play at 9 and help develop Kruise, who will hopefully take the 9 shirt when Hinchcliffe goes home.

| To be fair where would Kruise go?
Can't see another super league team wanting him at the moment. I would definitely like to see him stay.
Maybe Ellis at 13?
I think we would be able to get rid of Robbo and Wood if we wanted. Somebody like wakey, Widnes or even full time championship club.
They can't all play though and if Fages is brought in at least one will have to go.

I have thought for a while now that 13 might just be the place for Ellis to make his name. He is mobile, stocky, has a kicking game, and pace enough to play there.
Regards Hooker Roby played understood to Cunningham for a long spell, could not Leeming do the same, with game time in every match.
Time really for Robbo to move on to a less intensive level, he can not go on forever taking and giving what he does, He has been a terrific player for us, I hope when he does go he gets a good club.

Maybe they have some interest in Hampshire, he is rumoured to be leaving Wigan, which I can quite easily see happening, He is also rumoured to be Cas bound but a deal is never done till it's done. I would say he has all the makings of a very good SO, he just doesn't get the game time at Wigan. I think he could do very well under Powell, but I would have him here tomorrow .
With all that's supposedly going on at Cas at the moment, Powell may not even be there, All rumour and such , just have to wait and see.
