positive topic this, cant believe the trolls havent jumped on it yet!! but then again we dont need them when we have our own kicking the giants and paul anderson before the season starts'"
So my number from a club official at a community meeting 2 weeks ago is hearsay but a few hundred more isn't? Isn't it all hearsay? i expect people to tell the truth... Silly me.

No Jools, the point is both number come from "club officials" and neither are probably close to accurate. Neither "club official" will actually know the numbers and certainly neither should be bandying them about.
A quick look on the Giants website at the available seats shows that in the Brittannia Stand alone there are 2432 seats taken up, over 1000 on the Media Stand and 2300 in the Direct Golf Stand
so...5700 so far by my reckoning
perhaps the 1800 was for one stand?

| Don't forget that sections of the stadium are kept empty for press, advertising and corporate tickets- for instance the section behind the dugouts are reserved for such. I'm not sure why you think the numbers shouldn't be made public- why should it be a secret?

| Yes I know that. But a section behind the dugouts doesn't account for the difference between 1800 and 5700
As for keeping them secret there is such a thing as business confidentiality
The moment a business starts being precise about things they hold themselves up to scrutiny and tie their own hands in regards to marketing

| But yet we keep being told if we want to know something we only have to ask......
I really do hope you are right and the figure is nearer 6000, lets hope we have a flying season that gets the fans flocking in.
Talking to a couple today one is Wigan fan one saints (kids split too-bet that gets tasty on derby day!) she is a Wigan fan and wasn't too confident about their season-reckons they may struggle to get in top four she feels they have a good pack but inexperienced half back pairing and reckons teams will close down Sam and they will struggle. He was more confident that saints would have a good season building on last year. I think we have strengthened well and providing the players don't bottle out this year we could do well.

| I agree Jools about the prospects for our season
And it's all well and good asking, just don't ask what might be commercially sensitive

| Why is it a classic?
It's an epic rant based on ever more increasingly inaccurate "info"
But other than that I'd tend to agree with him to an extent
NB did leave us in a bad position because of his poor planning and management and the very poor second half of the season has made many people question their renewals

| Special christmas pack now available for kids getting season tickets, £15 includes a steeden soft ball, calendar, and drinks cup! They've done these before though not for a while!
I'll be getting my lads season ticket this week and adding the away vouchers this time round even though most of the away fixtures are on a very family unfriendly times on a friday night!

| Not from Huddersfield (or even Yorkshire) but a Giants supporter for these past ten years.
Love the club and go to all the games and it's become an enormous and significant part of my life. However, I'm always surprised at the lack of interest in the club from most Huddersfield Folk who - when expressing any interest in sport - seem far more interested in what's going on at Town. I find this frustrating to say the least..
From talking to those around me in our seats towards the latter end of last season, it seemed apparant that many were not going to renew and that we could be facing a huge fall-away in support.
I hope that doesn't prove to be the case but I fear that it may.
My other half and I have re-newed

Wigan and hull alone almost cover the cost of the kids away ticket- you will defo get your money's worth!

Know what you mean, guarantee if in pub with Giants shirt on waiting for the rest to arrive, some bloke will come up and say 'who's t'Giants playing today mate? when you reply it's followed by 'well I went to watch Town yesterday, they were crap (or alternatively) not bad' blah blah blah

| In town yesterday, entrance to packhorse from Kirkgate, saw the current official website splashscreen,(together we are hudders, uwag) totally covering a plate glass window that used to be a chicken take away.Splash must be 10 feet x 10 feet at least in that window.Impressive, can't miss it.
Can't fault the club for trying to get the message out with this advertising.

| People can moan all they want about folks spending their hard earned cash on watching Town rather than the Giants but ATEOTD its their money so their choice.
Annoys me too cos wendyball is about as entertaining as kick and clap and IMO (only my opinion) RL is by far and away a much more entertaining spectacle.
Trouble is Town are doing well, the Giants can put as many posters as they want in Kingsgate, they could also have a bus to go round to people's houses to pick em up game day and let em in free, we would still struggle to break 10,000 home fans.
The best advertising possible would be to go out and actually win sommert, yup that's it win something and be more successful than the rival teams you are competing for fans with.
Still think we would struggle to break 10,000 home fans but it would help push numbers up and generate interest.
Last season back end was a massive disaster and Brown did us no favours, hopefully an English coach who wants to be here can change things around and make us successful.
