| I've said it before and I'll say it again. We are not playing with the same amount of energy as last season or as at the beginning of the season. That can easily be seen - our linespeed has gone our forwards are not hitting it as hard, the players look lethargic. All last year we heard from the players how great they felt - not a dickie bird this year -They are being overtrained by this new conditioner. get rid.

| Quote: nottinghamtiger "About time the 'wrestling' tactics employed by Huddersfield and Wigan we clamped down on. They have been slowing the game down deliberately for too long.
Though I dread to think what will happen if Ganson gets a Wigan v Huddersfield game at some point in the play-offs. We could see sixty penalties.'"
This.
Mr Ganson made a clear statement in the opening 15 that he wanted a quick ptb; your lads *were* holding down and I'd guess that was Brown's game-plan, given that Wire annihilated the comp's other Wrestlemania exponents last week by winning quick ptb's.
As a neutral observer, I've thoroughly enjoyed watching Wire destroy the two teams who introduced and mastered that slowing, spoiling style of rugby a couple of seasons ago; it's my sincere hope that other teams follow their example and that as a result, those coaches who insist on pushing the envelope are forced into a rethink.
As I said on a thread on our own forum yesterday, if every team aspired to play the game like Wire are playing it right now, the whole SL would be a massively improved spectacle.

| Why wasn't he stopping Warrington from doing it?
Their second try came from a direct infringement at the ruck that he'd have penalised Huddersfield for but instead gave a scrum to Wire.
He simply did not apply the interpretation evenly.

Because they weren't doing it.

Spot on.
As McRae said on the night,if he's going to go with 0.5 second ruck clearance he's got to do it for 80 minutes and for both sides,he didn't.There was an occasion in the first half when Jerry was clearing our lines he had to virtually shove Morley off him to play the ball.Ganson did nowt about that.He had it in his head that we were coming to slow Warrington down from the start and never gave us a chance. Why was Lawrence done for 'wrestling' in the very first set of theirs. To wrestle you have to get your arms locked on,he never got the opportunity.
You only had to watch the difference in interpretation of speed of ruck clearance between Ganson on Friday and Childs in Perpignan Saturday. Why should there be any difference? same game (RL) isn't it.

You'll get some perspective when the blood has cooled.

Classic misdirection; the usual refuge of posters who have no argument against the actual point that was being made.

I did, I watched the game again after i had calmed down to make sure it wasnt just my bias in the heat of the moment.
if it had been any other team against Wire i'd have been saying the same thing, that Ganson simply did not referee the two sides in the same way.
FWIW the same thing happened to Hull against Leeds today

Ironically, yes it did, but I maintain that it didn't happen to you.

| 2 teams
1 field
1 referee
2 different interpretations of the rules
this has happened in 2 games this weekend and resulted in 40 points for the teams with benefits.
ourselves and hull weren't good enough on the day but we were playing to different rules and suffered for it.
not good for the game IMO

| Said this about Giants vs Leeds game but was told I was biased by the Giants fans, allowed 2 Leeds tries from forward passes and disallowed the crucial Giants one because of a forward pass.
Against Wire we were shocking and deservedly lost but there were some lopsided decisions, Hull against Leeds were shocking and deservedly lost but again some lopsided decisions.
We have the salary cap to ensure teams can compete with each other without the Refs and RFL getting involved.
ATEOTD I pay to watch a good game of rugby between 2 committed teams and this is currently being spoiled by the refs.
The Giants haven't been good enough this season tbh and deservedly lost to teams below them fair and square but they have also had a couple of games where they have been reffed differently to the opposition.
We need consistency from all wether that is consistently bad or consistently good it must be the same for both teams
