| Its funny how Wigan and now Saints fans have to ram it home how their playing a bunch of 'kids' and how their squads are so depleted before they play us ......5 years ago they wouldn't have even mentioned it as they would still be so confident of beating us whatever team they put out.
That shows how far we have come when the 'big' teams' fans are making games against us win-win situations ie...they're expected to lose so if we beat them it isn't an achievement for us/what a brilliaint result for them beat Hudds with a bunch of little kids playing etc etc......
Saints will still put out a fearsome line up that most SL clubs would love to be able to field just like wigan did and just like the Wigan game the best team on the day will win !!.

| tough call who to leave out. i think they will go for experience in the backs meaning Wardle to miss out.
Kirmond and Horne is a close call. i actually think they are similar pace wise. i think Kirmond is a stronger runner but Horne is better at finding the gaps out wide. I also think Horne has the edge in defence so i would go with him for this game.

We didn't mention it because we didn't have to rely upon half a squad of young players when injuries struck. In fact, five years ago, we were a very healthy squad and hardly had any injuries. Nothing to do with Huddersfield. Sorry.

| Saints are favourites, we're only poor old Shudds, whose first team couldn't even compete with Saints youth team
What aload of old tosh, Saints will put out a strong team, if we don't stand up and be counted we will lose, perform like we've done since the Headlingley game and we will lose.
Our lads need to put a shift in and a big one to beat them, they are not to be taken lightly.

Less of the small man syndrome analysis. I think most sane Saints fans would regard Huddersfield away as a major challenge even with a full strength side and would have done for a good 2 or 3 seasons now. You are one of the big clubs and have been for years now.
If we'd had 12 players out injured five years ago we would have lost. We still lost games even when we were one of only two sides capable of winning the competition. It must be very rare for any team to have 12 missing. It's not just the impact of losing those players, it's the knock on effect it has on the players who do play as they cannot be rotated or rested as you would normally. We've been seeing the evidence recently, the senior players are out on their feet, starting games looking like they've already played an hour.
We're expecting to lose because we're 12 players down on our full strength lineup. No team in SL could go to Huddersfield with 12 missing, including ALL their recognised half backs and be confident of a win.

| Nah, we'll duly oblige with our typical shambolic performance in the face of what should be a good win, at home and with chance of doing something special this season...

| I really do hope that you Giants fans turn up in numbers today for this clash between 3rd and 4th in the table. Why not introduce a friend to Rugby League who has never been to a game before by taking them along with you today.
Remember its a 5PM KO.

Don't be soft. About eight of our players will be aged 21 and under, at least one of whom will be having their debut. Our strong team is sitting in the stands, watching.

Remember in 2009 when we played our kids against Saints the week before the cup final and only lost 12-10 after the ref gave them a knockon when Elliot Hodgson dropped the ball backwards?

It's not the fans turning up I'm bothered about - I'd like the team to turn up this week..

8 very good players under 21, never understimate them, do so at your peril!

We have a very inexperienced team, yes. While Wello at fullback will be a welcome relief (assuming he is actually fit) we have no halfbacks at all, even our young players are sitting this one out in the stands. So we are relying on a second rower (Jon Wilkin) and possibly Nathan Ashe (a 19 year old who is struggling to return from his own injury and who is a fullback) in the halves. In addition, there is no TP, so it looks like we are going to have to rely upon one of our u20s players in the front row at some point, which is not good as 19 year olds are not built big enough to face fully grown blokes at speed. Still, I am sure our young players will give a good account of themselves and the senior guys will once again give directions!
