Got to agree with PBGiant thought Bentham had a reasonable game, he got all the big decisions correct. Did not get a close enough view of the Lunt and Hodgson incidents to comment. I think we sometimes forget its a contact sport. Just happy that we did not seem to come away with any major injury worries.

Its not the off the ball incedents, its the complete unevenness of the application of the offside and holding down rules that got me, usually I can sit back and go "yeah, he was ok I guess" but today Bentham was just terrible
He penalised Finnegan (IIRC) at one point for flopping, when the tackle hadnt been completed when he went to join in, yet time and again the Cats players were piling a third man on as the Giants player was getting up |

Ref got injured, pulled a muscle I think and Bentham was called into play.
I thought overall he was fair, although I agree about one of the flop penalties awarded against us, I thought the man was not tackled fully.

It's surprising who you see when you're sat at the front.
On a personal note today I thought the stewards were exceptional today. With us taking our 4week old and Two year old to the game both for the first time (choose a quiet one) we sat right at the front with the pram. I had to exit to grab the rain cover from the car and then we were escorted round the pitch with the pram to save us walking all round the stadium.
We didn't do too bad - took us 2 hours to get ready and only managed to leave 1 item (the changing bag with everything in it) at home. |
