| Should also say, Anderson has done a good job with us as far as I'm concerned, the league leaders shield, belittled as it is, is the only piece of silverware I've seen us lift, and it's one of the best memories I have.
This season has been filled with failings for all to see, the Ferres saga, the small squad, the rumours of unrest, condition team changing for reasons no one seems sure of, if these are all out or Andersons hands I genuinely feel sorry for him, but I'd imagine he has input.
Anyway, thanks for the memories Paul, this season aside I think we have progressed as we have through Smith/Sharp/Brown, hopefully time to kick on again.

| Quote: Ste100Centurions "I agree.
PR almost single handedly rebuilt Leigh Centurions from near Championship 1 & financial oblivion, galvanised a team & got that team *who were at best average* playing well above their station, then developed the team year on year to being the most dominant & exciting team outside SL.
While he did leave us [iup $H!T Street[/i with only 10 days to go to the start of a new season, it has to be remembered how far he brought the Club & the quite dramatic changes he made.
Paul is contracted to [iToronto Centurions[/i next season but I could see him doing a job for you to end of season, this would provide your board with the time to scour the Earth for a permanent incumbent of the hot seat.
IMHO it was a mistake to sack [i*both*[/i Ando & Kieron (as I have stated on the VT).
When Rowley dropped us in the S#!TE, his understudy Neil Jukes stepped up to the plate & rather than continue with all of PR's tactics & plays he retained the stuff he liked & introduced some of his own, it could be argued that we are now a more rounded yet less exciting team but so far the boy done good.
The point I am trying to make is that Kieron Purtill could have done the same as Jukesy did, it may be that he & Ando did not share [iall[/i of the same beliefs on plays/stratergy etc.
PR could be just the shot in the arm that the Giants need, albeit on a temporary basis.
FWIW as a Leigh Fan obviously, I am hoping Kieron arrives at Leigh sooner than the planned 2017 season as I believe he will add more quality to our coaching set up.
Good luck against everyone else but us in the 8's.'"
Seeing as Purtill is coming to you next season- and that had already been announced it would be daft letting him take the reins-nothing in it for him and actually could argue a conflict of interest.

We should have the younger Wardle brother up and running before next season along with Wood and MacKintosh.I would have let Joe go and got a fee for him unless of course with a new coach coming in he might start playing well for the time he has left on his contract.

Jon Wells?
Phil Veivers?
Why would we sign Gaskell when we already have Ellis, Brough, Wood, Brierley, Connor, Leaming to name but 6, who can play half back. Ellis to loose forward?
We saw on Friday despite the Grix haters, that Brierley is no full back, but played well when brought on at half back against Cas.

| can't say i am surprised, but overall he and Purtill did a good job and IMO had us overachieving.
Good luck to them both and thanks for the good times.

I can't believe anybody will be surprised, Did anyone seriously think K Davy was going to stand it indefinitely.
A team with no away win in the season ( till last night ) Never out of the bottom two, Going down into the middle 8. With all the money KD has spent, You have that as over achieving ? I appreciate It's your opinion, but thank God K Davy didn't have the same one.

Anderson has a good job heading the refferees, although if he hasnt been out of coaching too long think he would be a good call. Personally would like to see you go for it think you could do with a big name to hopefully attract a couple of big names to you and put an extra few bums on seats too. Would you welcome Brown back? can't see him being in his job long and cant se him getting another head coaching gig there now

| I don't think Brown back would be a good idea- that ship has sailed and too many issues.
As long as it's not macnamara, Harris, Kear or noble then I'll not be disappointed- I'm sure Bobby Goulding was on the phone the minute the news was out Anderson had gone- much as I love Bobby's passion for the game and feel he should be involved in the game in some development capacity he's not head coach material- that appointment would have me running for the hills.

| What about a curve ball, Sheens anyone? I'm sure he'd like to get back into coaching full time, in his own right.

I would have Brown, Provided he proved he was really interested, but I would only give him contracts 1 year at a time.
I loved what he did with some of our players. I can see why most wouldn't want him back though.
I agree with you about Mac, Harris and Noble, although Noble has proved he can coach if he can have a team full of N Zealanders. Kear did nothing with us, like a long line of others, but he has done good jobs at other clubs and he appears to have the knack for winning C Cups.
Whoever we get I want someone who can motivate the players first and foremost, It's surprising how some players can improve with the right man behind them, Training is training, and Practise they say makes perfect, Getting players to believe they are winners rather than hoping to be , is a different skill.
