| I heard people giving Seniors stick also and saying look at them compared to Regan Grace. The Seniors are 4 years younger than Grace. They are going to keep on improving and developing physically. They will be ready made replacements for Jerry and Uate when they retire in 2 years and shouldn't really be having to play this much now. Would be nice to see an all homegrown back line in 2/3 years time. I think we should give Dom Young a full time contact at the end of this year and see how he develops in the full time environment. Young and Jake Wardle could be the replacements for Cudjoe and Turner. Although Sam Wood might fancy his chances, doing well for Batley in the centres.

| feared a thrashing when i saw the team but so much effort on show lastnight, if they can show that every week we will win alot more games than we lose for the rest of the season.
few calls again didnt go our way but thats par for the course with us.
we had to do so much defending, expected us to collapse last 20mins but didnt.
hewitt looks like a star coming through for us, gone about his business quietly and woolford keeps picking him , can see why.
roberts his usual waste of space , what has happened to darnell too.... another way off since he signed a new deal... we cant afford players to have off days in this team they all need to play 7/8 out of 10 every week to win.
we are a much better team with gaskell in as it showed again and also clough.
few more bodies back for a big game next week now

| Saints may have won but have a very poor performance almost playing one man rugby but our tackling was equal to it.Even Walmsley struggled.Feel Frawley for whom I had high hopes should be given a ticket home. Anonymous once again.

More mackintosh bashing
Well of course the full back is always the scapegoat. Coote threw a couple of passes into touch- but saints fans weren’t calling him were they?
Let’s ignore the try saving tackle and skills on show yeah.

| i have praised mcintosh on many occasions and wanted him to sign a new deal asap

No it’s an opinion. Not fact.
A bit like your opinion that mellor “lacks” in defence.

Put simply Mcintosh is not a full back, he is a winger. A full back would not take a blocking position for kicks he would stand back and observe the positioning of the attack so he can defend if ball is not won,
I like Grix and would rather have him as full back but too late now, but if he is teaching mcintosh to take the position he is taking defensively, there is something severly wrong, or is mcintosh ignoring what he is being told?

If he was ignoring the coaches I don’t think he’d still be picked every week

difficult to drop someone with no alternatives for that position.
perhaps ignore was the wrong word, forgetting the position he is playing, i.e., keeps forgetting he is not playing on the wing

| Scott grix could play instead, the seniors also play fullback. But yes I think forget is a better way of describing it than ignore. Yes, I agree he’s not always doing the right things. But FB is the most technical position there is. There’s a lot to do and think about and it needs a good brain. He’s young and still learning the position. And I think that the club switching his position back and forth hasn’t helped
When he gets it right it works!
It’s not usual for your fullback to have more try assists than your halfbacks- so he’s getting it right sometimes.
I think he will get there. I’m willing to be patient with our youngsters as they are the way our club will survive.

I agree we need to be patient and these young players will be fantastic for our club moving forward in the next few years. Also people need to give Frawley a break hes still only a young man 23

I can see glimpses of good stuff in frawley- but it’s just not often enough or consistent enough and there’s a lot riding on him. we are in a position where there’s no one to mentor him.
