Somewhere in the dust of time rest the bones of the Galilean
He who was spat upon. He whose face was marred beyond all human likeness
Somewhere buried among the lies of the past rests the tomb of Yeshua
Of he who was made God in a world without Hope.
And when this son of Joseph is found. What then will the Church of Rome say?
Prepare yourself for the day is coming. And men will say
"Blessed are the wasted lives who perished in the flames of the holy war": |

If hes in front of where Grix is when he releases it then despite all the scientific theories of justification then its a forward pass - and thats what it looked like from a position in the side stand in line with it
( Having said -I`ll take it if offered ! Weve had enough allowed for scores against us eg The Leeds draw at home last season )'"
No she's absolutely spot on. Both in her interpretation of the laws of the game and her explanation of why it isn't a forward pass. The only determining factor is which way Grix passes the ball. Everything else is irrelevant.
I don't know why so many of our fans are so obsessed with taking what was an excellent hard fought win in tough conditions away from the players by insisting that a pass that clearly wasn't forward should have been disallowed.

| It's incredible the amount of criticism there has been the last few days towards players after such a good win...especially when it appears not everyone seems to be aware of the rules of the game...

Where the ball ends up does not define whether a pass is forward. if you watch most passes at speed the ball ends up in front of where the pass is made from. In fact if you throw the ball backwards over your head whilst running the ball will still be caught in front of where the pass was initiated!
The definition of a forward pass is not based on whether the ball has travelled forward but on the passing motion- and in this case the motion was backwards.

| i think a lot of our fans are only happy when we lose!
it was a bloody good win down there in those conditions and i am very proud of every single member of the playing/coaching/support staff not to mention the fans who got behind them for 80 minutes, but still not good enough for some!
fwiw i thought it was a forward pass, but not complaining one bit

Not every week. In fact, Brown was an awful passer when playing for us. Hodgson did have some superb cut-out passes - and also ones which ended up in touch!

| I submit to your superior knowledge fellow fans and will wait, watch, and smile to the reaction and total shrug of acceptance from all and sundry when it happens in reverse (not the pass - against us instead of for us) !!
and for what its worth - nowhere have I criticised the teams effort or committment to achieve the win !
Enjoyed the trip, company of fellow supporters, and performance and result immensely !
Well known fact - yer win some -yer lose some! I`ll readily accept the former !

Don't think there is any dispute about the ball going forward, If you watch it frame by frame on the sky box, It is clearly and indisputably thrown 5 metre's forward. Grix however keeps going forward and is just as clearly shown to be in front of the ball when It's caught .
It's a very grey area, I'm just happy to have got the call , because we have had plenty go the other way and will again, In which case it will be the ref who is completely blind the TJ who is not fit for purpose, and we will have been completely robbed. In fact we will be claiming all the things Catalan are claiming now.
I suspect from reading this board over a few years, that you have been watching the game a long time, so you will be well used to the unbiased and fair minded views of all RL fans whoever the club they support.

Nail on the head.
I remember someone posted after the Saints game that a lot of referee decisions are guess work and with 50/50 calls is that not what they always will be the gut instinct on Saturday went our way next time it probably won't. Such is life.

have to disagree on brown being an awful passer for us, hodgson was brilliant at getting the try scoring pass away, yes sometimes it doesnt come off, but as a club now without these two we dont have this in our game as often as id like to see, brough doesnt seem to be able to do it much and grix rarely when he comes into the line. Broughton would have had a field day with brown and hodgson, infact any wingers.. ask david hodgson

So many of the games top wingers have benefitted from great people inside them. Anthony Sullivan was spectacular to watch in full flow, but what a centre he had inside him in Paul Newlove. A powerhouse of a player with pace to go with it, and could time a pass beautifully.

Grix has supplied Jerry with cut-out passes in the last 3 games. Plus a couple of kicks.

he has done well recently, hope he can keep it up, shame we havent seen it enough in the past! which is why i say we have lacked it since brown and hodgson left us, that extra option to our attack hasnt been there.
