I really do the prefer that fact we are not getting much publicity. If you are in the media all the time getting hyped up then you are setting yourself up for a big fall. Why do we need journalists and other sets of fans to praise the Giants. As long as our own fans appeciate the teams performances then who's bothered about anyone else.

I also like it in the respect that we are more likely to be underestimated by the opposition, but on the other hand the media attention would be likely to help put bums on seats.

I have kept my copy of the Rugby League World at the start of this season where the 'experts' predict where each team will finish, some of the predictions are shockingly poor, and needless to say we don't figure in the top 3  |

That's probably what they *really* mean when they say things like 'going about things quietly'. We all know how lazy the hacks are so if they're not getting fed sound-bites or seeing coaches on Boots 'N' all or The Super League Show every week they don't notice they're there! That's why Kear gets bigged up by all the hacks and why they love Paul Cullen so much on sky. Nathan's a professional coach and clearly doesn't worry about the off field stuff. Again, fair enough by me - nothing will put bums on seats more than success on the field. |
