Black Backgrounds/Statler.gif Run leroy , run !.... And he did - twice - and we partied hard...:Black Backgrounds/Statler.gif |

| Agree. Hinch and Sam looked class in a poor side.
Got our 2 tickets for wildcats this afternoon, plus coach travel. We were coach 1 , tickets 7 and 8.....so not expecting many on coaches.
Anyone know why ticket office shut after yesterday's game ? Seems daft to me.

| Yeah Rapira has been the most consistent performer this season IMHO. Would be surprised if Brierley starts at FB. Maybe do the attack and defence switch like we did with Murphy and Foster a couple of games ago.
I would like to see Ryan in the middle first though.

| To be honest I would play Ryan at half back with Danny and leave out Kyle Wood Murphy to full back if Simpson not fit and Foster on wing. Wood has the occasional good game but is below the standard we require we should throw Breirley in at the deep end as if he's the future we should take a chance

Every half break we made on Sunday just about was on the back of what Kyle wood did. I'd keep him and brough at half. If he plays for me Ryan should go in at fullback. He can join the line and go for the gaps. It sounds as if that's where the club want him long term. We will be without a fullback as tansey can't play and with Wardle copping a ban (which he will) connor will be needed at centre. The way Murphy is playing at the moment id be tempted to rest him and play foster on the wing.

So was the pass that opened a 12 point gap early doors why buy a half back and play him full back ??

For me Because his style of play wouldn't work as effectively at half back in SL I don't think. He's a poor defender and not an organising half. He's not a general. He's a Tompkins type player- has great speed and acceleration and is extremely agile- he is a great game reader and will see a half chance and take it. He is also fantastic at backing up a break. His good reads will I think make hiim good at orgAnising the defensive line and having him join the line in attack could open up some opportunities. That's the kind of FB we need.

Woody can't tackle a toffee and hasn't the speed to finish a break or nutmeg the full back Brierley has yes a work in progress but he would be at full back one thing Tansey offers is he comes into the line well and can pass something we've not had since Brett Hodgson we missed him when he went on the wing after the sending off as like Scott Grix he can also organise the defence and means we could attack from multi channels something we desperately need to do.

| If Brierley is to play FB then it's going to be a work in progress, as has been said, defensively he needs work and he doesn't seem like an organiser, but play him as a 3rd half coming into the line of the back of breaks could be just what we want, and we've not had a FB like that since Hodgson left.
I would keep changes to a minimum, i agree that Kyle Wood isn't the best half back but he and Broughy have done ok last couple of games and Woody has done well for me.
If all are available i'd go with
Brierley
Murphy
Connor
Cudjoe
Jerry
Brough
K wood
Rapira
Hinchy
Johnson/mason
Bruno
Roberts
Ta'ai
Patrick
Eorl
Johnson/Mason
Leeming.

Also behind a struggling pack is not the ideal place to blood a new player with a weight of expectation on him. I would agree with you , let him find his feet from the back and exploit any gaps. I would eventually hope to see him alongside Brough , Most sides give a lot of attention to Brough, which should suit Brierley's style and allow him to play his own game.
