| Quote: GIANT DAZ "Is it just me being paranoid or does it seem like most of the tries we seem to score on SKY games against the 'bigger' teams seem to go to the VR ?.
all 3 of Jerry's did if i remember on Friday as well as Brett's. We just seem to have a hell of a lot of tries go to the screen when identical ones in the same games are given to the opposition, i'm not complaining as most of the time the decision is correct and goes in our favour but it's almost as if they go to the screen to find something wrong some of the time !
Like i said it could just be me.....'"
2 of Jerry's did the other (the walk in) did not.
I don't mind if they get the decision right.

| its because they are looking for reasons not to give a try as its most cases with the VR.
makes you wonder how any tries were given before the video ref.

| I think the Aussie way is better where the Ref signals 'a try' or 'no try', then leaves it to the VR to prove him wrong, removing the 'Benefit of the doubt' from the equation.
It seems to work well for them, the VR having to prove one decision rather than prove one and disprove the other.

True - the ref should be made to do what he's paid for, make a decision. It's too easy to go straight to the VR. Some of the tries that go to VR are so obviously tries it's ridiculous.

It's because Ganson needs to check he's tracking the right player

Agree 100% even the RU version is far better than the way it is done in SL. As with putting players on report it is a cop out and they would have to make a call in a non TV game so make one and if the video ref sees it differently so be it, might maks the ref make a better decision the next time around.

the refs still put players on report even when not on tv?

Think they were too busy reviewing the latest episodes of Corrie and Emerdale on video yesterday, hence after all that excitement didn't have time to view the the Bowen high shot properly due to the pub landlord turning the video off before the incident occured as it was closing time.
The idiots on the review panel at Red Hall are a complete joke.

I can actually see a reason why the review panel found as they did, their remit is only to deal with foul play not cynical play, that was Mr Silverwood's job. If the panel's view was that it was a cynical block rather than an attempt to injure then I can understand the ruling, even though it seems leniant. The problem most of us have accepting that is that he seems to have got off with blatant, cynical cheating. He should have at least been punished in the same way a tackler then holding down a player who had made a break, preventing a quick play and a good attacking chance.
Silverwood had to at a minimum give Bowen a sin bin for that cynical play, it was 4 strides after the kick, if he thought that the challenge was more than a cynical block he had to send him off. Had he done either of those there would be no fuss. Clearly the panel think it was a yellow not red card. I understand that, I don't agree as I think it was cynical and reckless, but I understand the logic.
If you have watched the replay, there is a clear angle from downfield that shows Silverwood with an absolutely clear view of the challenge. Nothing really that the disciplinary panel can do if the refs simply bottle decisions.

| Think the panel are thinking more about the WCC than anything else. If he'd have missed a league or cup game then he would have got a ban.
