What are we to do HY? I praise your CEO and some of your fellow supporters get shirty about implied slurs.
And the thing about me and Martin Sadler emptying AG's bins was never proven! ![Embarassed icon_surprised.gifops:](images/smilies//icon_redface.gif)

Blimey you don't visit a site for a day or two and WW3 breaks out!
To be fair to Charlie Winslade, he perhaps reacted to your praise as if it was slightly less than genuine when offered.
It is often a slur, not usually so thinly veiled from our 'nearest and dearest' in particular, that we do well to have such a robust business model and operate a decent squad under the Cap.
Best of luck Ginge

| anyone who suggests Brett Hodgson isn't an essential player for Warrington doesn't know what they are talking about. His goal kicking alone makes him an automatic selection...add to that his amazing passing and decision making..and he has to be up there as one of the best Aussies ever to play in the UK.

Absolutely and we got him over here and then after two years let him slip through our fingers. Gutted, someone dropped a big one make no mistake, but those are the breaks. Hopefully we can produce another gem from either down under or better still from our own backyard soon enough.

| Quote: Baron Greenback "cripesginger knows enough. And they have a point about the Warrington squad's ratio of star players in the squad too, regardless of your tier 1 and tier 2 chatter. There are plenty of big names in that squad, it's the strongest in the league IMHO.'"
Out of interest, because I'm often curious of people's perception of Wire.....Who do you consider can be classed as big names, or the big earners at the club?
I do get the impression that whoever Wire sign, they are immediately classed as a big name, and will be on big or, at least, a significant salary, thus the constant insinuation that goes around that Wire must be breaking the cap.
Of course, its all guesswork, but I'm certain that many outsiders are massively over-estimating what some of the Wire squad actually earn, but it would be interesting to hear some views from those not supporting Wire.

| There was a lot not made public when Hodgson signed for the Wire. I too thought like a lot of the posters on here until I found out the truth. Not much time for him now.

Why did he react? Why not ask a straight question if he was in doubt? Clearly what 'nearest and dearest' posters write plays winslade so easily.....poor sap.

No idea may be he thought you were just having a go?
Chaz doesn't need me to defend him but from what I've seen on our board he is knowledgeable, a more than capable poster, cares about the game at all levels. he has a bit of mischeif about him though when suits all in good humour.

All answer that for you, big earners likely to be:
Hodgson, Morley, Briers, M Monaghan, Myler and Westwood
J Monaghan, Atkins, Ratchford would be big names perhaps not earning what they would now be offered by others one due to joining under unusual circumstances the others look far better players now than when signed.
Then there are the likes of Hill, Harrison, Riley & Blyth all good players that are probably all bargains on a good bit below what they would get elsewhere due to being club trained or first SL club.
Then there is the likes of Grix and Higham, decent enough players that probably look a lot better playing for Wire but wouldn't strenthen a weaker team.
FWIW I suspect Wire bend the rules but don't break them, as will several other clubs.

Why think that when I was praising young Gatcliffe. All those gifts you describe...yet such a thin skin and prone to prissy defensiveness. Never mind. ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif)

I would also say that Monaghan junior would have started on low money, but when he signed his long term deal after a few months in that will have been on very good money. Atkins will be on a decent screw as well.
As cripes says, Warrington's CEO is a class apart.
