Yet their brave bid came to a stunning end when Cudjoe stepped out of the defensive line to intercept a pass and then run away for a 90-metre effort. (Times 2)

| Paul Aiton proved, if proof was needed, that not only is he a dirty player he is also dishonest, going down clutching his eye in a damned good imitation of a premier league wendyballer. It was a perfectly legal hand-off, which Ganson and his sidekick decided to interpret differently. I was surprised Connor didn't get a yellow, so we have to be grateful for small mercies.

While I agree Aiton made a meal of it and quite frankly as a Leeds fan I found it a little embarrassing I am not sure about perfectly legal hand off. I don't believe he has any right to hand off a marker defender after he has played the ball?

im worried that there might be talk of a gouge, looked pretty bad on the replays. im sure it wasnt deliberate, but you cant put your hand in any players face like that. silly pen to give.
however im with you on the theatrics, but im happy he did that than kick off and maybe get pen reversed.

| The penalty should have been given for aiton messing about at the ptb- then he wouldn't have needed to be handed off. Simples.
This messing about in the ruck -whichALL teams are guilty of at this level - is seriously putting me off the game of RL. I'm getting tired of it to be honest- it spoils the game Too much effort put into bending the rules /cheating at the ruck and less on showing some rugby skills. It's the worst thing Aussies have brought to our game.

| Another frustrating night, i don't think we played too badly once we woke up. Problem is we let an average side on the night score 3 very easy tries by not putting more effort in to make tackles, the Sky commentary team even commented on it, and then we find ourselves 18-0 down, credit to everyone for sticking to it and clawing it back to be leading but with a bit more effort we wouldn't have needed to come back.
Thought our back 3 looked solid again, these 3 need to stay there and develop as a unit.
Lunt was poor again, Wood was miles better in his spell and IMO Lunt's place should really be under threat now - he hasn't performed for a while now.
Broughy calmed down a bit once we got back into the game but was again on a warning for dissent and it can only be a matter of time before he gets marched.
Ferres is turning into a bit of a penalty machine and needs to get back to the attacking threat he was.
Disappointed and frustrated really as we had won the game once then lost it again.

| I thought it was a decent performance on the whole and a couple of individual errors cost the Giants the game. Thought the pack worked really hard and Ellis looked really lively with ball in hand.
As usual with Bentham none of the 50/50 calls went our way. Adjudging Cudjoe to have played at the kick and saying Wardle lost the ball on their line when it was clearly stripped been two obvious ones. Mcgillivary was also very close to getting in at the corner.
Overall it was much better and hopefull the first points will come soon and kick the season into life.

| Now that was alot better from the Giants lastnight!
ultimately going down 18-0 was what cost us, ill discipline from us and not helped my bentham, you cant go that far behind in SL never mind at leeds.
But we showed great character to get back in the game and credit to the lads for doing that, almost came away with another win there!
lastnight we were much more patient and built pressure, whereas before we have overplayed and tried to score off every set! hope we can continue in this vein and the wins will come now if we do. The next block of 3 games are very winnable and can get us back on track, will be under pressure though for the win againt widnes next time out.
thought Huby was brilliant lastnight, those offloads are great and also Brough was good too.

| Very pleased with last night performance.
Very gutted our winning run against Leeds has ended and the result in general.
There's a few negative thoughts on Lunt, but I didn't think he played too bad. That part of the end was awful when he lost the ball but to be fair I don't think our whole team was ready for a moment to get back. It looked like we couldn't believe our luck we'd made that previous break.
Good team selection. Wood and Ellis stood out for me. I think we finally have our options on attack and won't need to rely on The Brough Show.
Ferres frustrated me last night. He seems constantly frustrated. He is probably guilty of trying too hard. I think he needs to relax abit.
Brough should get a warning in minute 1! He did well to behave in the second half and played better for it.

| Only 4 players Huby, Kopczak, and Wood had good games. Ferris had a shocker and some of the tackling needs a lot of improving. Cudjoe is still searching for form, being kind. All can do better but this is the time they all need SUPPORT. Get behind the team.

| more positives than negatives last night, we switched off defensively for their first 4 tries but after that we showed what we can do, let's not forget that we won the last 55 minutes 24-10!
but you can't let a team build up an early 18-0 lead and expect to win the game, we almost did that and credit to the players for rolling their sleeves up and getting on with the task and getting us back into the game, they could have easily folded and switched off totally, i doubt many team would come back from 18-0 so early at headingley.
as for the negatives, well just defensive lapses really, one on one tackles missed at crucial times, and the fact we looked gone in the first 20 minutes.
carry on like that and we will go well, we have 3 very winnable games coming up, win those and we are right in the mix.
yes im disappointed with the 0/3 but in reality we have had one very poor game and had 2 close defeats and 2 of the toughest away fixtures.

| and i agree with jools, the messing around is becoming a joke now from ALL teams, how Mcdermott can come out with that drivel after the game is beyond me and just shows how his blue and amber specs stopped him seeing his own team's misdemeanours, Aiton was pathetic with his diving and play acting yet Mcdermott thought there was only one team guilty of messing around etc, very poor from him

I would say only two or three players had poor games. Last year we won the same game by 2 points. if Briscoes try had been awared at the death we would have lost by 4 the same as last night. However everyone was saying how good that result was last year yet there was very little different in performance to last night.
A couple of players went to sleep and cost us tries but overall the defence was very good.
Cudjoe is suffering a bit in attack because he is been asked to make thirty plus tackles a game which is far more than a centre should be making.

| Agree about cudjoe- 30 tackles last night!!! Wardle 26, in contrast moon made 18 and Watkins 7
Our left edge had to do a lot of tackling last night, Wardle, ferres and ellis missed 12 tackles between them and Leeds capitalised. Leeds made more errors than we did -we didn't capitalise.
I love mullally going forward - but 7 tackles (1 missed) isn't enough hard work in defence for me!!!

| If one sides centre have made 56 tackles and the other sides 25 then that means the Leeds centres have far more energy left to concentrate on attacking.
Our forwards missed hardly any tackles last night other than Ferres. What this could suggest though is they are not been worked hard enough and maybe should be looking to take some of the tackling away from the backs. Mullally in particular needs to work harder.

McDermott did not blame Huddersfield or their coach for the messing around at the ruck - he clearly said all teams try to slow the ruck down and will get away with what they can. He also did say that Leeds started to do the same in the second half. His blame was directed at the ref for allowing it.
